Sol Of Mexico

Sol of Mexico is the BEST. Small, inexpensive place on pleasant. I love the veggie tacos. So fresh and delicious. The mango salsa is probably one of my favorite condiments of all time. The staff is awesome too. I've ordered delivery from them a few times and they always call to confirm certain ingredient instruction.

This is a takeout review. All food is eaten fresh in the vehicle. I ordered a torta, a sope, and two tacos. The sope was quite good, lots of food and nice flavor. The torta was even better, great flavor throughout. The tacos sealed the deal, excellent in every way. On a scale from 0-10 I would rate this 8.8.

Came here for a quick dinner and WOW!! This is one of the best Mexican places I've ever been to in the northeast. The entire menu was tantalizing, but I have a weakness for chimichangas and they were running them as a special. There was just so much depth of flavor in the sauce and the meat. Portion sizes were perfect. I think the only chimichanga I've had that could even come close to this one was $17, so I made out like a bandit for $12. Only suggestion is I wish I had the option to make it a bit spicier. The place comes across very unassuming at first, but I was completely blown away by the food. Oh, and they have a pretty impressive selection of Jarritos! I'll be back...

Ordered the chicken enchiladas en salsa roja combo (with rice & beans), the rice was flavorful, slightly undercooked, but the portion size was abysmal, only 4 bites of rice in a tiny dip container. Same for the beans, which had an odd chemical-y taste. The chicken in the enchiladas was so dry and stringy I could barely cut it, under-seasoned, and if there was cheese on or in the enchiladas, it was so little I couldn't find it. The pico de gallo and lettuce was bizarrely sugary. The salsa roja was good, but that's about all. Also, ordered takeout, and expected it to come with chips & salsa like all the other Mexican restaurants I order from, and was disappointed to find none.

Never disappointed. The food is always fresh and tasty. We regularly order the fish tacos and burritos. The place is small but cute, however I recommend take-out so that you can plan your time. They do make everything from scratch so don't think this is fast food where they just throw it together. You'll know when you taste it how fresh it is.
