Ugly Duck

Staying at a nearby motel and being road weary and not wishing to drive too far, decided to try the Ugly Duck out. Pleasantly surprised by the food quality, draft beer (and bottled/can beer) selection. The nightly special was Lasagna and it was sufficient for the two of us and it was delicious! We also order the pretzel and beer-cheese appetizer which was served warm and the cheese had a nice zing to it. The starter salad featured olives, tomatoes and a nice cheese and was served fresh. I would like to congratulate and thank the staff for the excellent, attentive, relaxed approach and would definitely make it a point to stop here again.

I am always apprehensive about bar/restaurant type places. My wife looked up reviews about this place & decided we should give this place a try. I was pleasantly surprised at how un-seedy the place was. We got their ton of fries which were hot, salty, and tasty. We also got their The Deep pizza which between the great crust and their fresh basil pizza sauce ended up being one of the best pizza's we've ever had. Other than the 10 dollar mug of beer, I was happy with the experience.

The food wasn't that good. Everything is deep fried and just dripping with grease. The burger was bland and the wings weren't hot like they were supposed to be and my over size pizza pocket was nasty. I couldn't tell that there was anything in it because of all the grease. I have never been to a place where the food was so bad that even my husband didn't like it and he likes everything. The final thing was that our waitress wasn't very friendly and did not even remotely make us feel welcome.

Either they saw us coming a mile away or they were that effeing good. Although pizza was special of the night we order various items off menu. Let me tell you that they know what medium rare is...best cut of meat I have had in a long time. Real onion rings and fair fries completed this meal. Had a few beers and wings. Wings also good. A quick stop turned into nice long time together. Staff...exceptional, personable, and hospitable. Thank you.
