Just want to let all my local friends who love pizza know about a new place I found Friday night. It’s called Grateful Bites and it’s in Winnetka and it’s so very well worth a drive up just for their pizza. They use a sourdough thin crust that is literally to die for, but what surprised me most was their white pizzas. We had the elote and a bechamel along with a sausage and a cheese.
And the name is not spelled wrong, lol, the owner is a deadhead and there’s lyrics from Dead songs in the walls...
but the pizza is to freaking die for!
The elote was so good my one of my friends bought a 2nd to take home! And the locals love it too, I saw stacks and stacks of pizzas going out the doors, 5 or 8 at a time.
Y’all can argue over stuffed vs thin, Giordano’s over Pequad’s, Lou’s vs whoever, but this place renders your argument moot unless you’ve eaten here.
Hey now! I took my kids here today and we loved it. Excellent pizza, cool room, great back patio and kind people. Any place with "if you get confused, listen to the music play" stenciled on the wall is a-ok with me. We will be back!
I LOVE this place. They were so friendly and kind and the pizza was amazing especially the pepperoni and hot honey! Highly recommend!
Before the pandemic lockdown the tables were tightly packed and was hard to get around in there and hard to do anything really now it's gotten better I have a few less tables so it's a nice very small Cafe experience I think 16 seats five tables. Fairly large standing area for the many to go owners they have been developing over the last couple of years through necessity and I think also by design. It's possible it may be under new ownership but I'm not quite sure.
Excellent wood fired pizza. I’ve enjoyed all the pizzas we have ordered. The pepperoni and hot honey is a crowd favorite. I prefer the classic margarita.
Delicious pizza. The pepperoni and hot honey pizza is 10/10. They even sell small bottles of home made hot honey, if you want to try adding it at home. I recommend you eat the pizza here and enjoy the great music selection. The seating is limited to about 26 with the single window table accounting for 10 of the seats. In the summer months, there are about 4 small tables outside behind the restaurant via the back door near the bathrooms. Finally, the staff are very polite.
Best pizza on the North Shore! The cheese is chewy and sauce, toppings and dough are fresh and yummy. I highly recommend this place to experience a wonderful pizza!!
The Elote pizza was fantastic. The ceasar salad was drenched in dressing and on top of that the dressing wasn't very good. I would definitely go back for the pizza and ask for the dressing on the side. The staff was very friendly too!
Best pizza place around hands down. Elote and hot honey pepperoni are amazing.
