So good!!! We have never been before so we thought we would try something new. We didn't realize we had gotten there right at open, but the gentleman, was quick and ready to serve us!! It was so good!! So hot! The fries were perfect, crisp on the outside, soft on the inside. And the burger was juicy!! It cost more than we expected but it was delicous
French's is the best. Best burgers in town, get all the way (mustard, chili, slaw, onions). People complain about the attitudes of the workers but it's just because they don't understand their personalities. The lady is as sweet as can be if you actually talk to her, and yes the place is a little run down and needs some polishing, but don't read a book by it's cover
My favorite burger spot in town! Always delicious, fresh food that's reasonably priced. The owner is nice, if not a little gruff but NEVER unfriendly. The people complaining need to chill on expecting employees to bend over backwards grinning like a fool just because they graced the establishment with their presence.
Exceptional, old-fashion burgers served Carolina style (with chili, slaw, mustard, and onions). We rarely eat burgers and my husband ate two! Love that he is local and has been doing business for 21 years. Worth the stop and we will definitely visit the next time we are in the area.
Frenchs is awesome. $5 gets you a burger with any toppings. A sweet lady cooks them for you and she's also awesome. Just got 9 burgers and a side of fries and a large pepsi for $40 tipped $20. But still 9 for $40 is a deal. And they're SOOOOOO GOOD!!! Try them for yourself.
We went to French's for lunch today with the family. I read the reviews and had to try it, Dont expect anything special and I loved it, my daughter who is a picky eater asked for seconds.. The menu is simple and the owner is a nice guy if you take the time to talk to him and say hi..We only waited for our fresh food for about 10 mins which is worth it for the freshness anything is better then the fillers at other burger restaurants.So my best advice try the burgers get some fries and a nice cold soda and sit down relax and enjoy the rest of your day..
JHC-OMG!! So here's the deal...Do not, under any circumstances, slip and not hit this place if you are any kind of burger aficionado! Get it as it comes, with cheese, mine was a double. Do the fries easy, with salt then add pepper to taste. Do not the touch burger. Yes, get it the way Bob makes it, chilli, slaw, mustard and whatever, don't deviate trust me! And if your stomach's a little digestively challenged don't worry, whatever the formula is it won't irritate. This is one of the best burgers I've ever had and I favor the cheeseburger at Port of Call in New Orleans as a point of reference. Always support the Mom and Pops especially when they're this good, otherwise the world will be one great big Applebee's. Long Live the Great American Cheeseburger, including North Carolina style!!!!

French's is the best burger in ILM. One of the last "classic" burger places existing. Delicious chili and perfect fries set up excellent "Carolina" burgers and awesome loaded fries! For a great day, head to Carolina beach pick up a bag of french's burgers and fries and then for dessert stop in to Brits doughnuts! Nothing like living on the southeast coast and visiting pleasure island!
The food was delicious! Classic burgers and fries. Thick cut fried bologna sandwich, and super yummy hot dogs. Doesn't get much better.
Great burger reasonable prices and a very friendly staff. Got burger, chili dog and fries everything was just how it should be and their sweet tea was definitely on point.
