A pretty nice place with great outdoor seating with a good view. Overall it was a good experience dining here, food was good, wine was perfect, my husband was happy with his beer as well. However, I ordered the Captains platter (fried flounder, jumbo shrimp, oysters, and sea scallops) and the oysters and scallops lacked any flavor. Covered in the frying butter they just didn’t taste like anything and were bland.
The service was nice and friendly, and the bathrooms were clean. Overall I recommend trying this place out.
Chose to sit outside and enjoyed the sunny view of the river. The service was excellent. Shoutout to Emma. She was very welcoming and patient to explain to us each dish (because the menu has no pictures and it can be hard to visualize what you’re choosing).
The place has very rustic and seaside vibe. The decor inside feels like a large cottage style home (felt quite unique). Outside, you’re near the boardwalk and you can see boats passing by. Enough parking space available.
I would most likely lean more towards their seafood selection vs the poultry and meat. Again, you’re free to take what you want. But the place specializes more towards seafood so keep that in mind.
Bathrooms are a little cramped and small, but they were clean. So that’s good. Overall, staff is very friendly.
We had a large party so we called a little in advance, and got sat immediately. The food is reasonably priced and the portions are a little average but you definitely full once you’re finished. Drinks are also very good! The Port City Punch was a group favorite. Also the restaurant is right on the pier so the view is amazing!
A late lunch around 2pm we were seated quickly at a nice table outside, and had great service by Tristan. The Steam pot was huge and delicious 😋 A few sandy bites would be my only complaint, but was expected. Overall, great experience!
The Pilot House is located on the Riverwalk in Wilmington. They offer indoor and outdoor dining. The restaurant is spacious and very clean with a great view of the water. We shared the pimento cheese appetizer and the shrimp roll for lunch. The pimento cheese should definitely be shared with the table. The shrimp roll was so tasty and the handmade chips were delicious as well. Service was on point and friendly. We would definitely go back. Parking is along streets in the area and possibly public parking, though we didn’t see any public lots.
The view is amazing. Our waitress did a fantastic job. I wish I could remember her name. The food was succulent and cooked to perfection. I had the shrimp and scallop scampi. 10/10 I will recommend the Pilot House. Great job.
It was my 1st time there. The steak dish was great. Chicken and shrimp grits were also great.
We also got a crab dip I believe so and it was good.
Our server was really polite.
Atmosphere was good also. We sat inside since that day was windy and chilly. But overall good.
I would definitely go again in the future.
Stopped on Sunday for brunch. Full lunch menue plus a few brunch specials. My family had crab soup. Lobster mac and cheese, ceaser salad. Fish special, and steak and eggs. All was delicious. View of river primo. Some GF items marked on menue. Bathrooms clean. The server is helpful and nice. Highly recommend. Still reading....Give this girl's review a like will ya?
I totally love this restaurant! I come fromCanada every year! The food is always Amazing! The view is breathtaking! And the service is always great! Its nice to see the same waitresses there every year:) thank you!
9 of us went to dinner here and had a great experience. Had a great table that let both sides of the table look out to water. We all ordered different drinks and different meals and all enjoyed. Emily out waitress handled us with ease and did a great job. I was jealous of the shrimp and grits and will be back to order for myself soon.
