Charming Main Street diner: breakfast and lunch only. Retro decor, atmosphere
Friendly attentive staff. Quick service.
BLT, with mayo, on whole wheat toast: all done just right!!
Small town diner that is now called Threads City Dinner II because the original owner (it was originally named Thread City Diner) bought Hoppy Days Diner and saved it, and renamed it to the second iteration of Thread City. What an interesting history of the diner. Food came out lickety split, ribeye steak and eggs with dark toast

Since it's changed back to a Thread City location, things have been amazing. Sunflower toast has never been out of stock. (It is amazing you have to try it) Corned beef hash is fresh and tasty. I trust their eggs even if I get over easy. Everything has been delicious.
The staff is friendly, personable and remember us. The Diner is clean. There is single seating to large group seating which is really cool if you bring the whole family.
The lighting is not so bright you get a migraine but not so dim you question the food. It can get pretty noisy during peak hours. On the off chance I am there past 8:30 or so the noise and setup can cause a nuerodivergent "anxiety" response in the main room. Not as much in the secondary room where bigger groups can sit.
Overall an amazing place. Ill add photos next time I go.

DELICIOUS! Exceptional Personable Service! Fun, homey Atmosphere!
I go here whenever I visit my bro in Willimantic. Omelettes are Packed with your choice of ingredients. Pancakes are So Big & Fluffy, they almost fall off the plate! Service is very friendly (but not In your Face). The dining area is Very Clean and has lots of fun stuff to look at!
LOVE THE THREAD CITY DINER!!
Thread city is a fantastic place to enjoy a really great breakfast . I really love a hearty BIG breakfast Thread city provides a hard to beat fare. They have a dynamic and energetic staff!!! I've been many places. But there's no place like home !!
I got there at 12:50 pm on Sunday, 9/17/23. They welcomed me, acting like I was crazy for being worried about them closing soon (in 10 minutes). The atmosphere was great, the service better than great, and the food was better than that. I’m from Florida, originally from Rhode Island, and this was one of the best breakfasts I’ve had. So glad I found this diner; I was there to see the Frog Bridge.
Generous portions of great food served up by slightly sassy staff. The only thing I like more than the food is the help.
The place was very crowded which made the delay to be seated and to served a little long, it was around 45 minutes from getting from the door to getting our food, the staff was friendly and the food was good and relatively inexpensive, my only problem was with the delay itself which made my wife want to get breakfast in another place (but we waited and got our food)
Sooo very happy to see Andy is back. Always an awesome breakfast. Thank you Andy and staff.
Andy is back food. Awesome fast!!!! Great breakfast service with a smile....
