Breakfast on an early Saturday morning. Don't know the story, but waitress was the cook too? Maybe somebody didn't show up.... But it took quite a while to get food and coffee refills. She did a great job considering. Only 2 other people in while we were there. Anyway food was great and worth the wait. They had some cool breakfast items on the menu but we kept it simple.
We ate here while staying at the Mountaineer Hotel to ride the Hatfield–McCoy trails. The diner is only a couple blocks away making it easy to walk to from the hotel. Great little diner to have breakfast before riding. Very inexpensive, nice size servings, and very clean restaurant and bathrooms. The lady working did a super job taking our orders, cooking, and serving. She also did a fantastic job dealing with rude customers who did not like that the diner is complying with the state restrictions for Covid-19. My family appreciated the sacrifices this small business is taking to ensure customer safety during these unprecedented times.
I've been there a handful of times and I really liked this little restaurant. The food was cooked to order and the portions were huge. They, of course, have a railroad themed menu. Probably a little hard to find for non-residents due to being on the outskirts of town, but worth the trip.
Stopped here for breakfast. The laddies and gentlemen were very kind and welcoming. Enjoyed the breakfast with all my soul and stomach. Thanks for the hospitality and the food. Will return soon and I hope you are still there.
We ate here for lunch after riding the Hatfield and McCoy trails from Gilbert. Clean place, friendly staff. The menu had a nice variety. Easy trail access. We will be back.
Actually one of the best American breakfast places that I have been to. The food ("Brakeman" and a Western Omelet) was awesome, good sized portions and the prices were cheap. Restaurant was in a clean, newly remodeled building at is a good place to go for breakfast or lunch. The town is ATV friendly and I parked my buggy right outside the place on the street. Don't expect fast food speed and you will love the place. If you come here and eat a second or third time and they recognize you your portions get bigger. I also witnessed a good Samaritan Christian act towards a local resident. Proverbs 18:16.
