Our new favorite spot! Definitely a hidden gem in the bustle of Williamsburg. Kids loved the playground and watching the planes. Food was delicious and, dare I say, underpriced. Seafood bisque was spot on! The fresh Bavarian bread was soft and full of flavor. A simple menu, executed wonderfully.
Awesome food and service with a friendly staff. One of the local area's hidden gems.
Cute little local lunch dive with a wonderful view of the airport. We went around 1:45, after the lunch rush, and they only had wheat 😝 bread left, which ruled out sandwiches for us. Guess we need to be earlier! Although we don't eat wheat bread, the sandwiches on the menu sounded good. 😋 Did get the tuna salad "salad" which was fresh and the tuna was deliciously prepared. Ranch dressing was quite thin. Would have liked to have a clean table to eat off of but you can see from my pics that the place was swamped with people so the waitress couldn't keep up! Did like watching the planes!
I have to say, the service wasn’t that great. The waitress acted like we were an inconvenience. But the food was a pleasant surprise and the kids enjoyed watching the planes land and take off. Also, the photo doesn’t do the sandwich justice. It was awesome.
Such a fun and unique experience! Great sandwiches, friendly staff, and live music! It is so cool to watch the planes outside! There is a playground for kiddos too!
Seems like a local “hangout” kind of place. That can be looked at as a positive! Nothing, repeat, nothing fancy! The tatooed waitress to the biker looking cook… might make you walk back out. DON’T! She is really a great waitress and that man makes some awesome food! Several old model airplanes (covered with dust) hang from the ceiling. So what! They were a bit too busy to get to that! What I’m saying is don’t judge this little gem of a cafe by its cover! The food makes it worth it. Restroom, by no means fancy, was clean! I recommend the Reuben sandwich!
It is always hard to make a decision when I go to Charly's. This time I had the Warhawk. The sides were slaw and pasta. My brother-in-law loves their potato salad so whatever side you get will be good.
They make their own bread. So don't be surprised if you ask for anything other than white, later in the morning, and they have run out. Also if you order a bowl of soup they give you a half loaf of their bread with it. If you go that route, you will be very full with delicious goodness.
Save room for their pie. Also a favorite.
The entertainment comes when the planes are landing and taking off.
They have a Pancake fly in every second Saturday from April to November. They raise money for local charities. Go, you will have a blast!
Food was excellent, fresh, and all around a pleasant experience. Sit and eat while you watch planes fly in and out of the airport
Fantastic sandwich on fresh baked bread. Easy access right on the fiel. Great place if you are looking to fly in for an awesome lunch. Great food and service! I'll be back!
Loved this local restaurant! The staff, food and service were great. The views were awesome of planes coming in and out. I will definitely be visiting again!
