We had high hopes for the meal. We had planned to eat here after watching a movie at the tavern nearby. We were seated quickly, our order was taken within 5 minutes. About 15 minutes later our food was brought out. It was hot and looked good. That was the last time we saw our waiter until 20 minutes after we finished eating and we had to ask for somebody about getting the check. No drink refills. No questions about the food or if we needed anything. As for price, $20 (per person) for a taco, burrito, rice, beans and a drink is more than we expected. To top it off, the loud guy at the bar made it tough to enjoy our conversation 20 feet away.

Had a great lunch. Prices for lunch were reasonable. Food was very good. One lunch was enchiladas and the other two were plates were burritos.

First thing I noticed is that we were not greeted with a smile, and hostess seemed like she just did not want to be at work that day. Our food and drink order was taken right away, but service overall was not much better. No smile, did not check in to see if we needed anything, and had to flag the server down for refills on water and coffee. My husband enjoyed his steak fajitas, but my taco salad was nothing like the picture of the wonderful salad that someone else posted on their review here. My salad had just a spoonful of lettuce, no diced tomatoes, no shredded cheese on top, and no sour cream. It was really pretty greasy. For the prices paid here, the experience really could have been better, and there is no reason to be stingy on veggies in the salad. If you're out of something then substitute and explain to the customer or temporarily take it off the menu. This place has the potential to be really good, but we will not be returning to give it another try.

Great Mexican food. I tried the mole' pablano sauce which you could put on anything to make it taste better.....it's that good!!! Enchiladas were very tasty and for the money it was a good value portion wise.

This was one of the best Mexican Restaurants I believe I have been to in a long time. The salsa was incredible, I could not get enough. I had the Burrito Chipotle, the sauce was fantastic and the chicken was very moist and tender. We had both frozen and on the rocks margaritas and everyone in our party enjoyed them immensely. Our food was delivered quickly, was hot, and the orders were accurate.

Update: We loved it so much, we went back and ate again before heading back to Michigan. Food was amazing and fried ice cream was delicious! Wish you all would open a location in Michigan by us! Amazing food & atmosphere! Great value for your money, too.

We stopped by Plaza Azteca Mexican Restaurant on 08 June, 2021 and found they've revamped their menu from what they offered in a previous visit in January of this year ... and the Cliff's Notes are not all changes were improvements. Pluses- Still offering Coke products, two (2) of the better salsas (red & white) that you'll find, fresh tortilla chips in baskets brought to your table, offer table side guacamole prep, decent size portions, and convenient location (note that none of these are new). Minuses- No longer offer chile rellenos (WTH), don't offer tamales, and navigating new paper menu is slightly challenging. There was also major differences in the service we had in January and what we received today. In Jan, we had stellar service with zero complaints. Today's visit was just the opposite ... it started with the hostess and got worse with our server. When we walked in we asked for table seating and that was repeated back, then we were walked thru the restaurant to a booth in the very back. So when we repeated the request to be seated at a table, the hostess didn't seem to be happy with us and we were taken back to the front section and shown a table. While our server was fairly prompt with her initial visit to our table, after bringing chips, salsa, and our drinks we didn't see her for quite some time. In fact, we'd polished off the chips as well as our drinks. We did receive our entrees shortly after ordering them and then didn't see our server for a while, but instead of visiting our table a last time to check to see if anyone wanted to order desert, she instead brought us the bill. We started to tell her that we'd just go to another Mexican restaurant for dessert, but instead informed her that we would like to order dessert and asked her to bring us Flan and we were promptly informed that they were out of whipped cream. In hindsight, maybe we should've just settled the bill and left because this Flan definitely wasn't anything to brag about. While I'm not sure what all has changed, other than the menu, at Plaza Azteca since January, we'll be looking for another Mexican restaurant in the area on our next visit. No longer recommended.
