My boyfriend and I were staying the night at the Wedmore Place and decided to have dinner in the restaurant inside the Inn. We are so happy we did. The restaurant had an intimate atmosphere with excellent service and food. The scallops were the hit of the evening. We will be back!

Husband and I visited about 4 months ago and loved it! The atmosphere was wonderful and the food is untouchable. Service was also outstanding. We ordered a bottle of wine that was not ready so they gave us a glass of champagne on the house! We had the fried oyster appetizer and it was delicious. I got the steak (rare) and it was cooked to perfection. It is rare that my husband goes to a nice restaurant and does not order steak, but he decided to go with a fish dish that was served in a broth (forgive me for not remembering more detail, it was awhile ago). It's even more rare that my husband decides not to order a steak and DOESN'T regret it - but he was obsessed with this dish. It's a but pricey, but we knew that going in. Will visit again.

We went here for our anniversary and the staff and food was in par. It's pricey but worth every bite. It's on the property of the Williamsburg Winery and you can actually do a wine tour and eat at this restaurant as a package deal. I had a great time and the food was extremely fancy from the starter to the dessert. Definitely a perfect spot for a date.

My experience having dinner here was otherworldly good. We were treated beautifully and I felt so cared for. Since this was a special event for me, this is not my usual style of dining, I decided to try the spring lamb chops. I had never experienced them before. Tremendous. We enjoyed the wine that was suggested and the dessert was extraordinary.

Amazing cuisine and service! We stayed at Wedmore Place for a few days and dined at Cafe Provencal and the tavern for every meal. Both were so awesome we didn't even think about dining anywhere else. The service is personable and professional without being stuffy. The staff was attentive and seemed to always anticipate our needs and desires. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Service was ehhh. It seemed like they were short staffed. We got the package with the Wedmore place hotel and were disappointed we got a limited food selection. But the food was amazing!!

Exceptional food and wine. It's located right by the Williamsburg winery, so it's perfect for local wines.<br/>My friend and I decided to grab a bite to eat after a wine tasting and it was the prefect way to cap off our visit.<br/>We had a cheese board and the Limoncello dessert. The cheese was fresh, delicious, and artistically displayed (I've been to France and live with a Frenchman-I know my cheese). The limoncello was very refreshing. <br/>The server was very polite, attentive, and knowledgeable. She knew the perfect wine pairings for the cheese we ordered. <br/><br/>*Additional note: There are cats that occasionally roam around outside the winery and restaurant. You are not allowed to pet the cats while dining outdoors at the café (due to health & safety reasons).

Found the restaurant to be quaint with decent culinary flares. For the Williamsburg area I would rate the Cafe Provençal an 8 out of 10. For a regional rating they are closer to a 6 out of 10. My husband's filet was seasoned and cooked well. My Salmon was ok, very fishy. The risotto was amazing. The waitstaff leaves quite a bit to be desired!! If Cafe Provençal is looking to play with the big boys they will need to upgrade to professional service staff. Our waitress had no culinary schooling only what she could read off of her order sheet! They completely missed the mark with my husband's birthday .... called ahead and informed the front of house that we were coming to celebrate his birthday.... dessert arrived and nothing.... no birthday script .... a candle??? nothing.... I expect A+ service if I am paying $140!!

Outstanding!. My husband and I eat out regularly and decided we wanted to try something new for our anniversary. I did lots of research on Urbanspoon.com and found Cafe Provencal. The reviews on other sites were terrific, and we decided to give it a try. It was absolutely outstanding! As recommended by other reviewers, we tried the scallops appetizer -- all I can say is we practically fought over licking the plate. I'm not a huge bacon fan but this sauce was amazing. My husband had the pork chop and I had the salmon filet - it was all my favorites in one dish - a thick filet of salmon (cooked by someone who realizes it doesn't have to be cooked to death!), risotto, asparagus, and lump crab, all in some type of butter broth that was awesome. My husband seemed to thoroughly enjoy his pork chop. Neither of us sent back any food to speak of.<br/><br/>All in all, a fantastic dining experience - our only negative comments would be that they need better signage and lighting. We weren't sure how to get in to the restaurant and probably went the wrong way down an outdoor staircase. <br/><br/>We will go back!
