Double S Steakhouse

Stopped here on a road trip. Nice outdoor seating area, indoor seating is available as well. Friendly staff and they were very prompt. Menu had a good selection. Everything that we ordered came out perfect. Mid rare burger was actually mid rare. Most places overcook them, not here. I was pleasantly surprised. If you find my review helpful please click like.

Food was good provided they get the order right ... which, unfortunately, they did not. The decor was nice and the overall feel of the place was spot on, but the service was lackluster at best. Didn't even get the offer of a warm-up on my coffee - waitress seemed more interested in getting us fed and out of her hair. Your mileage may vary, but if I'm ever through this way again I'll opt for a different restaurant.

I have to premise this by saying, this rating is for Willcox and is graded on a scale for that area. In a big city I would rate it 3.5 to 4.0, still a good restaurant. The service was friendly and prompt and the food was good. Vegetables and steaks seasoned well. I also liked the large mason jars for glasses. Liked a lot especially for Willcox. One of the best restaurants in the area.

We stopped here on our way to California mainly because of the positive reviews. I came out of this restaurant with mixed feelings. First of all, we stood by the front of the door way close to 10 minutes before someone asked how many were in our party (we had 5 people). After that we got seated but it took yet another 10-15 minutes before we received menus & gave drink orders. We ordered the "Twinkies" and cheese sticks from the appetizer menu. When our cheese sticks came out we were told that they were out of the "Twinkies". The waitress suggested getting the stuffed peppers instead. We said ok and proceeded to wait 45 minutes before our food arrived. I honestly think they forgot about us because people who arrived after us got their food. Also our peppers never came out. We asked why and a different waitress came up and said they were out of them. It should also be noted that I ordered a baked potato with my prime rib but was told they were out of them. I then saw a man near our table who came AFTER us receive a BAKED POTATO before my meal came. 🤔😡 The prime rib was good I just didn't care for the seasoning. Green beans, ribs and rolls were all tasty. The salad bar was small but did the trick. Tea was great & I liked the decor and overall western vibe. Maybe we would've had a better outcome if we came on a different night.
