A really good place to try Indo-Bangla food. They have a great menu selection and their service is pretty good. However, I hope they provide extra spoons and stuff to help serve the food next time lol. It's quite difficult to pour rice and mutton curry with a fork.
Also, one more thing... they have their own lassi/yogurt drink with mango and strawberry flavors. You must try it! It's delish!
Deshi Curry is one of many Indian restaurants located at 21st and Woodlawn. It's located at 6249 E 21st Street right by Da Cajun Shak at the southwest corner. They are open 11 am to 11 pm seven days a week according to Zomato and Google. . I've been wanting to go to Deshi Curry for some time now. My knowledge of Indian food is extremely limited. I've been to Passage to India and Zaytun but don't know what really to order off of a non-buffet menu.
Had veggie dumplings an chicken dumplings...had the mutton curry an chicken spinach dish our food was good I thought it was good didn't have any naan so next time Will try the naan also had a can of Dr.Pepper so I don't think the price was to much for what we ordered the vermcelli rice was good an I think I will try the mashed eggplant next time
It's sooo good!! The naans were hot and fresh. We had chicken tikka and mutton biryani. Their sauce was yummy. I give 9 out of 10. Because we had to drive to easy side from west; yeah, it's that good! Try cardamom chai afterwards.
Tonight was my first time eating food from Deshi Curry. I agree with the previous review saying that it is a little depressing inside but not dirty by any means. They seem to have quite a few loyal customers. The food was not great but it was pretty good. I had the butter chicken and a samosa and they were very tasty.
The food is delicious. The atmosphere has changed a million times over the years, but always ends up feeling depressing and uninviting. I only get carry out from there for this reason. Saag paneer is my favorite, bombay byriani (I'm sure I'm misspelling the heck out of these words) is great too. Honestly, everything I've had there was good.
This is a superb, an excellent and an outstanding restaurant that provides mainly Indian style meals. Their preparations are so delicious that hard to put in writing. Service is great and so courteous, looks I am eating in a great banquet. The chef came out to make sure things were nicely prepared, made me feel special. Hospitality is one important ingredient of “taking meal” and that this restaurant did wonderfully. I recently moved here and I am delighted to come to know this place close my house that I will be enjoying this great meals often. Great job you guys in the restaurant, keep up the good work. My taste buds are happy! Delicious food! Skimpy on the chicken, but not on flavor.
Great food! Have had goat there twice and it was impressive. It's a touch pricy but ingredients are more expensive now, so it's understandable. My only wish is that the place wasn't so quiet, maybe add some music?
