Very authentic Mexican food and it is always so fresh. The prices are wonderful too. This is by far my favorite Mexican drive-through in Wichita. They do need to fix the pothole right by the window at the drive-through though.
I received excellent service. The woman who helped me at the drive-thru window was extremely kind! We will definitely be going back soon!
This place has some insane hours, 7 AM to midnight Mon-Thursday, and 7am to 3am Friday and Saturday, and 9am to midnight on Sunday. So they are open many more hours than they are closed. That said you don't always get the top drawer food after say 11 PM, but you can at Lalo's. It's also good food during what most people consider normal business hours.
Burritos are huge, and I mean huge and everything is inexpensive and filling. For an almost 24 hour restaurant the place was also reasonably clean and well lit. Plenty of tables, plus a drive through, and looks like they are no longer a cash only establishment.
it is a counter service, more of a fast food style place than restaurant but they used a lot more fresh ingredients than your normal fast food. Filling, fresh and flavorful describe Lalo's with the huge benefit of their exceptionally long hours. Worth a stop or drive though whenever you might be in the mood for a step above your average Tex-Mex place.
Good and Fast. Lalo's is one of those authentic Mexican places that pretty much have the same menu. You can get the tacos, burritos and tortas that come with pico and guac, filled with carnitas, asada, barbacoa, lengua, etc. Kind of like Taco Lopez (my fave), Mexican Burrito, Taco Express...
I got the carnitas burrito. It was massive, just like Lalo's competition. The pork was on point, the tortilla was fresh and had a good chew. The differences- more pico than other places, and I couldn't really detect any guac in the mix. That's a matter of taste, as some people like more or less pico and guac. I didn't hold it against them. Also, they seemed a little quicker than most. Another drawback, I didn't see a salsa bar, but I was in and out pretty quick. They had red and green sauce, neither was very hot. Once again, that's a matter of taste, but I like salsa hotter than they offered.
Overall, if someone suggested Lalo's for lunch, I would totally try it again.
The best place for Mexican food. The Supreme Chicken Burrito can't be beat. Also, they are open late..huge plus.
Authentic Mexican Food
The parking lot is uneven and the outside of the building is worn. They offer buche (pork stomach), lengua (cow tongue), barbacoa (cow cheek), and Carne Asada in your choice of tacos and burritos. On Sunday, menudo is available. For the timid, they also have less adventurous options like ground beef and chicken. The waitress/cashier conveys a straightforward demeanor, no chit-chat. It usually takes less than 10 minutes to receive your order. The food, although not artistically presented, is excellent in texture and flavor. The tables and chairs are fatigued from years of service. The floor and restroom are not tidy. So, from someone who has only been to Mexico once, they get praise. In my opinion, the whole experience is completely authentic.
I love this place. One of the few places to get great Mexican food with great service in Wichita. Also, their vegetarian burrito is good.
I eat at all sorts of restraunts, and this hole in the wall is my favorite Mexican fast food hands down...it's hard to even look at taco bell after grubbing out on just about any item the menu has to offer!
FIESTA!!!. Authentic mexican heaven FAST!!! Order anything on the menu and get ready to get bloated!!! Cheap prices and freaking beer too! Ok pry your carcass off the couch and go get you a diet busting plate of food that will induce plenty of worthwhile guilt!!! D-out
Lalo's Real Mexican Stuff. Get down with some real Mexican soft tacos. $1.99 a plate buys your choice of meat and salsa to top. Barbacoa and Carnitas tacos were great.
You know what sounds really good right now?.... My family is always making fun of me when I say this because they know what's going to come after this statement..CARNE ASADA FRIES!!! Yummy fries with carne asada, shredded cheese, guacamole, sour cream! It's my favorite thing on the menu from Lalos...this place reminds me of the places I used to go to in San Diego for fast food when I visited family...just walked a couple blocks from my Nana's house to get rolled tacos (or flautas) ...main things I get here rolled tacos, carne asada fries, and a quesadilla with carne asada...have gotten fish tacos from here too and they aren't bad...if you want really fast mexican food this is the place :)
Fast and so good!. Lalo's is awesome! Love the burritos, they are huge, and made from fresh ingredients wrapped up in a homemade tortilla. I've also had carnitas and tacos. They have two salsa options a red, mild salsa and and green spicy salsa. Drive through is always fast, even when there is a line. I've never eaten in. They are open late some nights of the week, the last time I called on a Saturday they said they were open till midnight, awesome!
Great place for authentic Mexican food. Nice atmosphere, Excellent food, friendly service, very reasonable prices. Would definitely go again.
You hear fast food and think, no thanks. Don't let that turn you away from here, it is fast and it was all good too. Best of both worlds when your in a hurry like me.
Their Super Nachos are some of the best in town. Every once and awhile their food comes out a bit warm instead of hot. My only other issue is their speaker is so close to the street it's hard to hear. The other day they doubled my order on mistake and I felt terrible telling them it was the wrong quantity.
