The Old Mill Tasty Shop on E. Douglas is almost like stepping back in time. The décor is much like the old time soda shop and the photos on the walls give a look into past days of the shop's history. Their chicken salad sandwich is always a delicious choice, but the special last Friday was Salisbury steak with homemade mashed potatoes, green beans, and a tasty roll. Though I'm not a Salisbury steak fan, the aroma in the shop smelled wonderful so I ordered it. The huge portion of meat and potatoes were delicious and turned out to be a great choice! To add to the fun dining experience the server was delightful and had an outgoing and pleasant personality. If you've never been to this little soda shop, I suggest that you give it a try because you'll have a great dining experience with homemade food in a historic eating establishment.
My grandma brought my mom here, and my mom has brought me here, I've been coming here ever since I was a kid. I absolutely love this place. The food is amazing and the staff is always friendly! It is by far one of my most favorite places in Wichita to eat. I always recommend it to friends who are from out of town, and to my friends who are new to town. It is definitely one of Wichita's "must visit" locations!!! #wichita
