A hidden gem in the area! With the abundance of chains, I always make an effort to search out new local places for lunch. Grindstone on the Monon was a fantastic choice. The braised short ribs were delicious and tender. The carrots and mash were equally as good. Service was quick and friendly. I'll definitely return to try the menu further!
My gf and I stopped here today on our way to Michigan. She found the place after we passed it, had to turn around since we were 7 miles out. BEST decision we could have made! We got to eat outside and enjoyed the beautiful weather. She got the chicken tenders and fries, basic! I had the bison burger. It was so good! We both had fries for our side and I think I eat about half of my fries before I even touched my burger! I could eat a plate of the fries with some ranch and a sweet tea every day!! Definitely recommend! We might stop by on our way back. Enjoy!
The owner (I think) and the chef legitimately care about hospitality and quality. My family came here after my graduation and both of these gentlemen came to check on us multiple times, asking how everything was, if the steak was cooked to our liking or how the desserts tasted, how the drinks were, everything. They clearly wanted to be sure that we were enjoying ourselves and our meal. The waitstaff was absolutely phenomenal and very nice.
Hunter's service was great, every food item we ordered was outstanding. It's very far out of the way because my wife and I live on the south side, but we will find time to come back and try more things. Short Rib Poutine, Hoosier Hot Plate, and Fish & Chips were all fantastic.
This place is excellent. Three of us went there today and were seated right away, and all the staff were very friendly and efficient. The interior of the building was very pleasing with a homey atmosphere, and as a bonus wasn't even cold. Thank goodness. I started off with a Manhattan cocktail that was very good and not watered down at all. That's almost rare anymore. I then got the southern fried salad, which was just perfect and very good sized. My tablemates both also loved their food. So all in all I have nothing but good things to say about this place and I can strongly recommend it to everybody. I know I'll be going back too.
We enjoy coming to this restaurant in the summer with our dog because it has a nice shaded patio with fans. It is also close to the Monon trail so we can walk with our dog afterwards.
I had the grilled salmon salad—the salmon itself was nicely charred and crispy, the zucchini nut bread is delicious and who doesn’t enjoy candied pecans?
My husband had the baked rigatoni pasta which he said he enjoyed.
Sierra was super nice and attentive. 😁
We've been several times now, and every time, it's been excellent. Food is never a disappointment, and everything we've tried on the drink menu has been great.
Came here with family for my birthday, and had a phenomenal experience! Highly recommend, and shoutout to our waitress Anna. She made it fun and was very attentive without being disruptive. What a perfect birthday!
Fantastic food, good atmosphere, pretty good service.
Cheese curds were top notch, wild mushroom burger with the demi glace on it was phenomenal, fried fish was decent (could have been crispier), fries were fantastic. We sat in the bar area so our waitress was the bartender. All things considered, the service was great, she obviously had a lot of other things to attend to.
Will definitely come back here.
I ordered a breaded tenderloin. All the condiments were on the side. It was not one of the large thin type, but a little larger than the bun and ½' thick.
It was fried just perfect and very delicious.
I was only able to eat half of it because of its size plus it came with my choice of sides which were steamed broccoli which were also perfect.
