A few weeks back we received an invite to travel up to scenic Westerly, Rhode Island to participate in the first of Chef Jeanie Roland, Owner, Operator, and Executive Chef of Ella's Fine Food and Drinks' summer/fall 2016 cooking classes, this one titled ... . Ah, such is MY life! A weekend trip to coastal Rhode Island - and the chance to eat some lobster! Ummm, okay!
Best dinner in Westerly area. Great food. Great service. Great everything. This restaurant is comparable to any top NYC or LA restaurant.
Great Food !. I recently went to Ella's for dinner, It was just my partner and myself. The waitress was friendly and very helpful with the menu. She started us with an amuse busch of salmon and caviar on a house made cracker. So Good !! We started of with the warm goat, a perfect combo of warm crusty bread and goat cheese with 3 different tapenades. It was delicious ! My only small complaint was I wish there was a little more bread to finish up all the toppings. Then we shared the salad, which was so fresh and also very good. It was Ella's twist on a Cobb salad,. Then we had dinner, my partner had the tempura dish and myself the gnocchi. The tempura was very good but my gnocchi dish was outstanding ! It had fresh hen of the woods mushrooms in it (pinelle for locals) which I thought was a great treat ! We ordered cheesecake for desert which was alright, I have had better. But all in all our meal was great ! I think it s the tastiest food in town and will definitely go back.
Extraordinary "Dining" experience. Attentive courteous service designed to ensure a memorable experience. Highest accolades to the chef and her staff. By far the best dining experience in the Watch Hill/Westerly area if not all of Rhode Island.
Incredible food. We have been here three times now and just love the food!
The oyster appetizer, jumbo shrimp tempura and chocolate dessert was delicious. My husband had the duck and loved it. Can't wait to go next Friday!
This is the second time I have come to Ella’s Food and Drink for dinner and the second time I had a 5 star dinning experience . Tonight meal consisted of the Duck Udon which is seared duck breast on a bed of Udon noodles with a mix of sautéed mushrooms with Bok Choy and Hoisin sauce. My entree was delicious. The duck breast was perfectly cooked and the sauté was light and tasty. I also ordered a desert that was on the specials menu as advised by our waitress. I had the coconut tres leches cake which included a scoop of passionfruit sorbet and coconut gelato with a passionfruit and strawberry crumb topping (reminded me of Captain Crunch flavor). I loved everything about that dessert, unbelievably great. Well done!
What an incredible experience! The service was amazing, and the food and drinks were great. The chocolate torte is worth saving room for!
Stop looking for another restaurant. Ella's is spectacular. From the service to the cocktails to every bite you taste you are wrapped in a culinary experience. The veal special melted in my mouth and came close to how my favorite Restaurant in Paris prepares it. The blend of flavors in both appetizers we ordered (fried mushrooms and beet gnocchi) can't be beat. Service was lovely, we were not rushed and our server was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Make your reservation now - and enjoy!
Wow!!! Scrumptious food, fine wine by the glass and excellent service. Worth every penny we spent. Our second time here and we want to come back and bring our friends and family. What a jewel in Westerly, RI.
Had a wonderfully tasty meal there recently with a group of friends. The appetizers and entrees were all fantastic, fresh and full of interesting taste pairings. The Humboldt Fog was impeccably served, as was the Hen of the Woods. Entrees were hearty and delicious.
The service was a little off; we were disappointed to have been stuck in the "lounge" (read: bar) area -- despite having made reservations a month in advance. The main dining area was much prettier. Our waiter was competent but never cracked a smile, didn't try to explain any specials or menu items to us. The oddest thing was when he brought our cocktails to the table one by one, as they were being made by the bartender.
Correcting small details like this will elevate Ella's immensely. Besides that, I can't wait to go back and try their spring menu!
I have dined at every restaurant in Westerly and this is the best. In fact you can expand that area from Providence to New London and still call it the best. This is no bargain eaters delight. This is high quality food that is discriminately sought out and selected. The detail is down to the garnish. No store bought micro greens here. The portions are appropriate for the fabulous rich food they serve. Everything cooked to perfection. Scallops, calamari, and veal chop are on so many menus but are often low quality or over or under cooked. I had all three here and I cannot over use the word perfection. It was a busy night yet a calm atmosphere was abound. When I go out I am looking to enjoy 3 things, enjoyable and relaxing atmosphere, exquisite libations, and food that is both pleasing to the eye and the pallet. I have been here twice now and have experienced nothing less than.. yes I’ll say it again Perfecto! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I can’t wait to go back and try their burger 🍔 !
It was a solid 4-star dining experience. The food was good, but we weren’t blown away. The service was also good, but there were a couple of mistakes.
Excellent experience from arrival to departure. Food amazing. Kristen was a great server too.
I went to Ella’s for the first time tonight. The waitress was very friendly and attentive. I ordered wine, an appetizer, entree, and dessert and all of them were perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious. The beet gnocchi was light and flavorful. The filet was perfectly cooked and the sides were equally as amazing. The creme brûlée was one of the best I’ve had. The only thing I wish Ella’s had was some music for background noise, but the food and service was incredible. I highly recommend coming here and will definitely come back!
Ella's is one of the best restaurant's in the area. Exceptional food, service and atmosphere. Very elegant and great for special occasions. I had the scallops and my friend had the duck. Both meals were outstanding.
I see some poor reviews from people because they felt the restaurant was not welcoming to their infant children. Candidly, I have to agree with the restaurant. This is a place people come to relax and enjoy very fine dining. It is not really a place for infants. Bringing infants here is not considerate to the majority of folks trying to relax and enjoy a fine meal.
Again, the restaurant is awesome and the bar area is very nice also.
