New York Deli-park Ave Catering

A really nice find while traveling through the area. This is a solid place with good people running it. The gentleman who took my order was polite and patient, and he answered all my questions. I was surprised by the amount of vegetarian options they provide, more than your average deli - and they are happy to tailor it to you. The deli is attached to a mini-mart, but it doesn't detract from the deli's environment. The mural of NY, the casual seating options, and the general decor leave you feeling like you're somewhere in Jersey. The food tastes great and has a homemade quality to it. The ingredients in my sandwich are fresh and there's a good balance of flavors. I was surprised with the pickle spear even, as you can tell they pickle the cucumbers in house. There are refrigerated meals ready to go, they have a large menu of breakfast & lunch options, and they offer catering as well. There's even a tempting selection of snacks including their version of chex mix, muffins, and other baked goods.

COVID-19 INFECTION WAITING TO HAPPEN. I went in there to grab a quick sandwich. NONE of the employees but the girl at the order counter were wearing masks and immediately after taking my order, she took off her mask. None of the 3 people making the food were wearing masks. The man at the cash register was not wearing a mask. When I asked him to please put on a mask so I could come up and pay he flat out told me "I don't wear masks" and was extremely rude about it. There was no protective glass or plastic to help prevent infection anywhere. I was horrified and disgusted that the people there have so much disregard for the safety of others. Not to mention that this is a state wide mandate! Good luck to anyone who goes in there, I threw my food away without eating it and I will never be returning.
