Reviews Royal Myanmar

When other reviews said hidden gem of the North Hills I didn't believe it, but after coming here for dinner last night I can say all good things about this place are true. It is a unique little restaurant with a nice variety of dishes. The atmosphere/style of the place is pretty plain, but when the food is this good who cares what's on the walls. Plus the majority of their business is take out.

I tried the Center Avenue Sushi roll to start off my meal. The sushi sauce was a little sweet for my taste, but if I dipped the sushi in some soy sauce it had a great balance.

For dinner I had the pad thai and it was wonderful. I was asked what spice level I wanted and a 5 was just perfect. The portion was quite large, I ended up taking over half of it home (which I just remembered so I am finishing this up and going to warm it up for lunch).

My husband and I are huge fans of Hing Wongs Chinese, but it's a bit of a drive from where we live, about 30 minutes. After we finished our meal here we both agreed, we found it, our go-to Asian restaurant in the North Hills.

Spread the word Pittsburgh!. AMAZING food in West View. We had 3 dishes and 2 appetizers. All were fresh, hot and delicious. The Mapo Tofu was our favorite. The flavors are very unique, not Thai, Indian or Chinese but a wonderful combination.

The only downside is the location. Very easy to get to but you need to know its there.

Warm, friendly owners. Let's keep this one in business!!!!

Good food - friendly service. My daughter and I decided to try the new "Sushi" restaurant in West View. We were pleasantly surprised to see that not only do they have sushi but a variety of Asian dishes. The tofu appetizer we had was delicious. They make their own tofu and it has a light pleasant flavor and the chili sauce was a nice compliment.
My daughter wanted sushi so we tried the Nigiri, California roll, and soft shell crab. All were good and the eel was tender and flavored just right. The octopus was delicate and not gummy which attests to it's freshness.
The prices were about equal to most places of this type. Not over the top or out of range.
We are definitely going back to try some of the other dishes. Where else can you get samosas, sushi, satay, Kim chee, etc on one menu at a decent price? The miso soup was good and not overly salty.

The woman who served us was extremely pleasant and attentive. The take our business was moving along but we were the only in diners. Also there are not a lot of tables so once they start getting known I could see there being some wait times.

Excellent!. Wonderful from start to finish! Try the appetizer sampler. Samosas, satay, and fried tofu made from chick peas. Loved the pork with pickled mango.

I can't recommend Royal Myanmar highly enough, they're in my top 3 favorite restaurants in the county. :) I drive about 30 minutes each way to come here most weekends, even if I don't have other plans near there. It's a nice family-run business with a great selection of Burmese dishes and other Southeast Asian food. They also do sushi, apparently! I've become a regular here, despite never having Burmese food before trying this place out. I've probably gone through most of the noodle dishes and salads. The flavor and quality of their food is fantastic: I've been on an intense diet and have been coming here on my weekly off-day because their food's so nutritious, fresh, and tasty. The fresh tofu salad is definitely my top pick, which has limited availability. Parking is pretty convenient, prices are reasonable, portions are good, and service is great. I'd love to dine inside sometime, since they have a very clean and nice restaurant too.

I can't vouch for other menu items because I pick only Myanmar/Burmese dishes when I'm here! I love Royal Myanmar because it's the only place in Pittsburgh with a more extensive Myanmar/Burmese dishes on the menu. The taste is authentic and delicious. Their chickpea tofu (tohu) is crispy on outside and creamy inside. I've had it in salad and by itself and they're both yum. The Mohinga (Burmese Fish Chowder) and Ohn No Kauk Swe (Coconut Chicken Noodle soup) are also delicious and comes with split pea fritters. I haven't had Lahpet Thoke (fermented tea leaf salad) but I've had their Laphet Htamin (Fermented Tea Leaf rice) and it was so good! Also check out the size of the Thai Iced Tea! I will be back again and again!

Very nice food combined with a kind team of sisters working there. I am from out of town and happy to get my food there. They are accommodating and having stayed and worked extensively in Thailand, the food as as close as you can get. A nice group of folks and worth a try from a standard American Chinese place to try. THANK YOU for always being friendly to me too. Gary, the white Thai speaker :-)

Started with Myanmar tea, very delicate and smooth on the palate. Combination sampler was great, the homemade Tofu was outstanding with the sauce. No-go on the salad with ginger sauce, just not my zone. Main course was semi spicy chicken curry in coconut with white rice, so good. Chicken spiced beautifully and tender. I love rice, so, it was grand. After main course, ordered afterwards appetizer, Cali roll, was very pleasing. Hand made before my eyes. Very flavourful. Ending with another Myanmar tea and a wheat cake that, in my opinion, reminded me of Central American Flan, but with that unique flavor from the other side of the globe. The staff is great. Hardworking people that go above and beyond to ensure you enjoy the food. Thank you.
