We enjoyed a delightful outdoor dinner at Egan & Sons during Christmas week. The had the heaters in the lower tables but not at the high tops. I had the angus sliders for $12 - a real bargain. My friends ordered the Cobb salad, the beet salad and a cheeseburger. Everyone was happy.
So yummy! I went on a random date/time. 2pm on a Thursday. It was pretty much empty and I we had the best service.. John was my server and very professional. My friend was running late and he did not make me feel rushed at all.
I had a salmon Caesar salad, and my friend had a Cobb salad with chicken. She loved her sangria and I was happy with my house white.
Those salads were HUGE, and I will never complain for getting a bunch of yummy food for a reasonable price.
It was clean, loved the atmosphere. Would definitely drive back there from Jersey City for another meal and good vibes.
My husband and I enjoyed lunch on St. Patrick's Day. This place was highly recommended by friends. Best Cottage Pie hands down!! We will be back!

Great food, drinks, prices, and atmosphere. The menu variety makes it a perfect place to take visiting friends or family (if they eat meat, they have to try the chicken pot pie). Mike A is the best server, he’s an absolute sweetheart! Sometimes we stop by just to say hi to Mike A. If you’re a fan of UK sports or TV shows they have you covered. If there isn’t room (COVID aside obvi) there is never a long wait if you’re willing to sit at a high top or the bar. In good weather or with proper layers, the back patio can’t be beat. The owners and their commitment to the experience are part of the heartbeat and community of Montclair. Both dine-in and take-out are done with care.
Update: we celebrated our engagement here and once again the staff delivered 110%. Due to the timing of my proposal I wasn’t able to give them an exact time, but alas they saved us an amazing table and made our very special day absolutely brilliant. Marie, our server was so kind and thoughtful, as were the hosts and again, Mike! I can’t recommend Egan’s more for special moments and wonderful food shared with the people you love!
I absolutely love this place! I go here about 1-2x a week for their delicious Pear Martinis aka Peartini. Please go try it if you haven't, they are so good! Not to mention the fabulous, spunky staff that work here. Everyone is friendly, upbeat and attentive.
I have gone to Egans and Sons a number of times and it's a great place, the atmosphere is great as well. We had a short wait for a table and out server Mike was great , friendly, courteous and he checked on us often. He recommended delicious menu items and even took the time to get our names. It was a great experience and I will be back soon. Thanks Mike for such a great experience.
This place is awesome!! I have gone here twice already. I enjoy going here to pass time before work as it is right down the street from where I work. Very friendly staff (shout out to Joe) and generally, it's a very welcoming/relaxing atmosphere.
