Wentzville Family Diner

Diner food at its Best!! I’m talking just like Middle America, Grandma’s home cooking! The kiddoes had the Amazing Alaskan Waffle topped with Ice Cream, Strawberries and whipped cream, while the hubby and I had the Farmer’s Skillet with Steak, Hashbrowns, green peppers, sautéed onions choice of eggs and cheese!! We all give Wentzville Family Diner a BIG Thumbs Up!! This place should be on Guys Diners, Drive-ins and Dives!!

We used to frequent this awesome diner frequently and loved it; great food, fantastic service. But since the owner’s presence has diminished, the quality and service have declined drastically. At our last visit, I brought my family of 6 for breakfast, this included a 90 year old frail great grandmother and my 5 year old son. We expected to wait a little of course for a larger table. But what unfolded was terrible treatment for well paying, loyal customers. We watched the older lady server, who seemed to be in charge, sit 6 smaller tables in front of us, where tables could have been combined to accommodate us. Several other servers kept suggesting to her to combine tables for us, but she said “just do what I say and don’t question me.” Meanwhile my 90 year old grandmother was standing for nearly 30 minutes. Then once a bigger table left, another middle aged server said with a whole lot of attitude “Do you want that table?” She preceded to throw the menus on the table in front of us and walked away. The only saving grace was our very sweet younger waitress as she was very apologetic to us and did her best as she knew we were upset. Needless to say, we will not be going back. At least with the current staff that is there now. Such a shame to see an awesome, hometown restaurant survive the pandemic to now providing horrible service.

We had a great time, got excellent food, and enjoyed fine service. We were in a large group of 9, but the service was timely, and very friendly. The waitress even played along with one of our members making jokes. I had the Cowboy Burger special and it was delicious. The homemade chips were really good, though I could have used a few more! For dessert we had the Carmel apples pie ala mode. It was great. One of our guests had the fried catfish and I now want to go back and try that! Highly recommend this place for an enjoyable time with comfort food!

This is one of my new favorite places to eat! The food is delicious and the prices are incredible. The service is spot on and everyone was friendly. We loved it so much the first day we went that we ended up eating there again the next two days. I highly recommend you stop in for a delicious breakfast or home cooked dinner.

Love this place! Great customer service, quick and friendly! And the food was amazing! I haven't had a meal of this quality in a long time. My lovely waitress had several tables and took a little while to bring my coffee, which I hadn't even noticed, and had it removed from the bill. 100% will be back!
