The twilight dinner was amazing! Great options, beautifully presented and extremely well-made. The overall cost was far less than I have previously paid for lesser dinners. The service was excellent and the staff very good at keeping an eye on things without hovering. The ambiance is well designed and the mirrored wall gives the impression of a significantly more vast space.

Excellent food and a great atmosphere. I was very impressed with the portion sizes, you get a lot more than many other fine dining restaurants would give. I highly recommend the manilla clams as an appetizer, they are some of the best I've had in a very long time. I opted for the twilight dinner with bolognese al forno as the entree, which was also fantastic. I will definitely be stopping in again on my next trip to Washington.

We have gone to Shakti’s for our birthdays and anniversaries since we moved here almost 3 years ago. This last time we went it was very disappointing. The service, drinks and atmosphere was great. The food, not up to quality and flavor as past visits. Our appetizer didn’t taste the same and was a smaller portion than before and my pasta entry I had requested 1/2 spice came full spice. The normal is full spice but the second time we went there I was told by our server they could vary the spice. I’ve had it 1/2 spice at least 2 times and it was wonderful. I told the server and she had them redo it and apparently the cook wasn’t too happy about that. As she was bringing it over you could tell by the color it was little to no spice. I took 2 bites and we had our good boxed up and left shortly after. Maybe in a couple years we will try them again but not anytime soon. They were not at all busy either. Had a great evening. I had the rigatoni, when it says hot, they mean it. Now, it's cayenne so it's a different type of spicy. Very well done in my opinion, I should asked for a bit more cheese but it was great. The wife had the pacific coast crab croquettes. For the appetizers we had the bruschetta bread. Very well done as well, along with the ciabatta bread. I had the house salad with extra tomatoes, one of the fresh tomatoes had a bad spot in it. I realize that arugula is not for me hahaha, I will try the Cesar salad next time. I think the tomatoes were just off this night, because the crab croquettes were bedded on a couple that were over ripe, but I will say they quickly replaced them with fresh ones which were delicious as well. We had a great time and will be back.

We had a fabulous experience celebrating my partners birthday yesterday evening. Our reservation was at 7:30 pm (I had no idea that was closing time when I made reservation) and Javon was so gracious, friendly, and engaging with our group. The crème brûlée they served my partner was out of this world. Food and drinks were also delicious. This is definitely one of our favorite spots in town. Will be back soon. Two thumbs up.

I just read your follow up. The waitress DID NOT remove the filet from the bill!!! I would have mentioned that in my review if she had done that. After I complained about the filet she said she would mention it to the cook and never returned until we were ready to leave. Very disappointed in your response. I used to love this place. Went there last week and had filet mignon. Absolutely no taste, had a rough time cutting it with a steak knife because it was so tough and a third of it was fat. I've never seen fat in a filet before. Showed the waitress how hard it was to cut and the large portion of fat. Her only comment was she would tell the cook. Never heard back from her.
