The Cottage

Pretty room, nice service,but just okay food. Had the stuffed avocado with chicken salad, which is just an assembled dish, so should be easy for the kitchen. The menu described butter lettuce and tomato but the single sad leaf of lettuce and two thin slices of pale, wan tomato really do not deserve mention. The avocado is a large, whole one, halved and filled with tuna or chicken salad. The chicken salad on my plate was a generous helping, but loaded to bursting with mayonnaise. The plate was also dressed with quinoa salad, a messy addition. Fish tacos were the other entree, looked nice but a tiny portion of tilapia. There's two tacos on the order. The reason only one star is lost is that the staff is pleasant, the room is casually pretty and the table is well set with handsome dishes and glassware. A soda and the water glasses were refilled promptly, and there's a nice little bread basket on the table. Still trying to find the place's better dishes, though, maybe it's the burgers. There's parking in the shopping center lot, they take reservations, and it's handicapped accessible. Vegetarians and gluten free diners would do fine, and there's a full bar.

Somewhat picky, but they didn't have salt or pepper on the table, which would lead me to believe they think their food is properly seasoned, which it wasn't. The potatoes and eggs could both use salt. Eggs could use pepper (personal taste, no blame for not adding before it got to the table). Tomatoes were nice. Bacon was nice. Sourdough toast was good, but it was presented without butter, and they never brought butter or jam options to the table. So alas, the toast was very dry. Thankfully, I could use the egg to provide moisture. For a $15 basic breakfast, I have had better food and better service. Also, we came at lunch and didn't get a lunch menu. Didn't even realize there was an option for lunch until we saw others around us receiving items that weren't on our menu. Oh well. If you serve brunch and someome comes in at 1, you should probably offer a lunch menu to ever patron, not just some.

I love The Cottage. I recently had a dinner party there and they were very helpful when I needed to change the number of people throughout the time before the dinner date. At the end, we requested separate checks and they made it not a problem at all which was really nice. The food was delicious! I ordered a beet salad with shrimp and it was super tasty!

A bit difficult to find in the parking lot. The Cottage is a hip and modern restaurant/ bar. The menu is basically American nouvelle, interesting with nice offerings. It’s a bit loud but the atmosphere is definitely fun. Food is good, service very good. Had a very pleasant experience. Oh, get the Eggplant Fries- they are killer!

Great dinner service last night at The Cottage. When we were seated our server was very prompt got us waters quickly while I decided on my drink. The cocktail I got, the McQueen I think, was delicious 10 out of 10 would get again. We ordered tuna nachos which were good, the tuna was cooked perfectly. My husband ordered cod which he scarfed down and I ordered the Impossible burger which was good but I wasn't in love with. I give them props for having that as a vegan/vegetarian option though. 4 out of 5 just because the food was good, really good but didn't blow me a way.
