Hopdoddy Burger Bar

This review is actually from Black Friday, the Super Bowl of Shopping - it seems that holiday shopping and hunger go hand in hand. I had the choice of a popular breakfast/brunch place next door that was packed wall-to-wall. It was a good choice to do so. I ended up having a burger bowl, where I was given the option to have a base of brussels with the burger patty I chose. I ended up having the El Diablo as my "burger" and I added bacon for the crunch. When the food arrived, it was filled with a bowl of "flaked" brussels. Imagine the brussels being peeled into a pile of "leaves". They were probably flashed fried because they were a bit oily when I ate them. I didn't know at the time that you can dress them with other specialty toppings, like grated parm, blue cheese, etc. Even though I asked them to be plain, at the very least, they could have been salted. No worries, I asked for salt and pepper. My friend who is a burger aficionado and likes his food boiling hot, made no complaints about his burger and fries, so that is a great endorsement of this place also. My friend ordered fries which I tasted some of his shoestring potatoes and they were light and crispy - the ketchup was a perfect compliment. My burger was sufficiently salted and benefited from the cheese. My bill was somewhere in the neighborhood of $12-14. Would I go back to HopDoddy? sure. Make a special trip there? Maybe not. But if I'm in the neighborhood again, sure, why not?

Don't get the truffle brussel sprouts. It's only fried leaves. Not the whole sprout and the truffle is a sauce on the side. The burgers were good but needed more seasoning. Fries were great. Drinks were okay, but if you're going to charge $15 for a mini bottle of wine, don't just give me a glass. I went back up to the bar for my other half glass.

Everything is 50% off during happy hour at Hopdoddy! Something that makes this location more special than the others is consistency. The food, customer service, and staff are always on point at this location. Highly recommend trying their new item sliders, it is served with sweet Hawaiian rolls. I know it sounds basic, but it’s good. Never had an issue with parking or finding a table to sit at.

Come here at least once a month for dinner. Consistently great burgers & fries. Love the root beer & cream soda. Fries come out quickly and always fresh. Everything in the burgers is done well: baked brioche buns, perfectly cooked, fresh lettuce. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Multiple options for those w dietary restrictions, which is why it’s a staple in my household. Bit pricey, but 100% you’re paying for the fresh and quality.
