This a really hip place to come for breakfast, brunch, or lunch. All of the staff are friendly and inviting. Fair warning, the wait is often super long but there is an app you can use to check in early. They offer artisan coffee, lattes, food, and a few craft beers and cocktails. Their menu is non traditional and inventive. I recommend viewing the menu ahead of time to see if there are items you will like. My food tasted great and you MUST get the breakfast rice as an app. (Feeds four) Overall a neat, fun and tasty place to get a bite to eat.

Super cute and quaint little restaurant in Webster Groves. The food was delicious (I had the fried egg sandwich). Prices were very reasonable. The staff were all very friendly and super attentive. The atmosphere was great, we sat at the bartop type seating and it was like being in a friend's home, seated right in the kitchen. Loved it, highly recommend.

My wife and i were in town for a wedding and found Half & Half online. The atmosphere was clean and cozy- you’re not packed in there like a lot of other breakfast spots. Being our first time, our waitress Carmen was super attentive and helpful. She gave us pointers on the menu, knew the dishes well when we asked about them, and was kind throughout the entire brunch. They have rotating dishes on their menu. I got a chorizo hash with a biscuit. I’m a believer in trying new dishes at restaurants, but when we come back (we will) I’ll hope this rotating dish is back on the menu. Kid friendly- ask about the dinosaurs!

Came by for brunch today, it was awesome! Food was great and the atmosphere is pretty relaxed. Heads up the grapefruit mimosa is served with a sugar rim for whatever reason. The waitress was annoyed when I asked for it without and then said “it’s served that way.” Ma’am clearly you should put that on the menu if you’re going to have an attitude.

Shared lunch here with the family after an event at Webster University. Eggs Benedict, French toast, Blueberry pancakes and chicken livers were the 4 meals in play. A couple of interesting takes in that the pancakes were cooked in a little bacon grease--sounds questionable but was really good! The other key difference was having chicken livers on the menu. I'm a fan--don't see them on a menu often--and they were very good! Excellent food all around and excellent service as well. Highly recommend!

I too have mixed feelings. Great atmosphere. Excellent service. And mimosas for breakfast are always a hit for me. But the food was served on the cold side and was not “special”. I had the eggs Benedict and it was cooked well but as if it was sitting without heat lamps for a minute before coming to the table. Nothing about the place would have me making a second trip out here.

Brioche French toast and the chicken salad sandwich were both delicious. I appreciated being able to check in from home, then head over at the appointed time. I would love to go back soon and try the eggs Benedict! Or just dive into that French toast again. Lots of families with one infant in a car seat, but this is not the kind of place we would take our three wild ones - definitely more of a brunch date restaurant for us! Contrary to another reviewer, I liked being able to see the kitchen as we waited for our food. It was a very reassuring signal of food safety and health standards, and was entertaining to get that behind-the-scenes glimpse into the inner workings of a busy restaurant! Not to mention all the urges of “oooh I wish I’d ordered THAT! And that looks good for next time! And and and...” :)

We had a great brunch - the food was really good and the service was spot on. Maybe a little pricey - the food quality & quantity, and experience matched the price, but Half & Half would fall under the category for this family of four as “a special treat” as opposed to a regular stop. The kids had plenty of food with their kids’ French toast and potatoes - though they added a side order of eggs. I had the biscuits and gravy that were delicious - the homemade biscuit was especially good. The gravy was tasty and had a little kick too it - I will note that the spice added an orange tint to the gravy, which was a little surprising, but I got over it. My wife had the blueberry pancakes - plenty left over as it was a decent sized portion. One note - though we appreciate the transparency of an open kitchen/expediting area, there is a little weirdness in seeing the food inventory on shelves and boxes. Nothing was out of place or messy, it was just kinda odd. I love participating via Google Reviews - if you find this review helpful, please click Like below. Thanks!

Solid brunch place. I found the prices a tad higher than equivalents, but the taste and portions make it feel worth it. The host quoted a 25-30 minute wait and it ended up being 20 minutes for 2 people. Not bad considering the crowd. It's not super close to my usual haunts, so I probably won't be by often on account of the wait. I would happily recommend it to friends in the area. I had the sausage biscuit and was very pleased, though the biscuit was a bit darker than I usually prefer. Still good. Nice atmosphere, but be aware that it's fairly noisy during peak hours and apparently popular with families who bring young children.

One time visitor review - Half & Half's breakfast and brunch options all look delicious and the biscuits and gravy most certainly were, as was my girlfriend's order called a (funnily enough) "Half & Half". The cold brew iced coffee was some of the best "plain" coffee I've ever tasted. And the waitress was super nice and the facility was very clean. From what friends have told me, it's entirely normal for there to be a very short wait to be seated. But if you're just looking for coffee, you can order that to go without the wait in their little coffee window. I would definitely go back to try some more brunch options and for more of their coffee.
