Good morning Donut Lovers! I am so happy that I had the chance to stop in to Ahne's Bakery this morning! Someone told me they had Bear Claws so I had to visit! They have the most delicious Caramel Crunch Bear Claw that is so good you have to go try one! Their classic glazed yeast, iced cake, French crullers and raspberry jelly donuts are all super soft and buttery and totally worth the drive, as well! Absolutely amazing! Hands down the best bakery in southern Illinois. I cannot think of a better place to find doughnuts or danishes. Only downside is that you must show up early if you want glazed doughnuts because they sell out pretty quickly, but it's definitely worth it.
Stopped in on a Sunday for a Gooey Butter Cake, and a couple of pastries. No traditional donuts when I visited, but everything was good
