Good food and good service. Had the penne peppered vodka with shrimp. Tastes different than regular vodka sauce but good. The lighting was a little dimmer than I like. The area where we sat had a draft from the door, I suggest when you call to make reservations, ask for a table away from door/b
The apps were outstanding and definitely the star of the evening. We ordered 3, the Fried Calamari (may fav), Pane Cotta (escarole, white beans, parmesan broth, toasted garlic herb bread topping) and the Sausage with broccoli rabe, all 3 were a smash hit. Love this place. Very cool, old school vibe. Service was phenomenal. And the food! I've ordered the pork chop in plenty of restaurants. I can't recall one as good as this one. Perfectly stained and, more importantly, perfectly cooked.
Any reason to go to La Tavola is a good one, whether it's planned ahead or last minute. Attending an opening a block away on a Monday in early June, we were glad to see La Tavola was open as many restaurants are closed on Mondays. We chose a table outside on the front patio. Have had several delightful delicious meals here this trip and on other occasions. Always seeking the best and this place makes my tastebuds dance. The music waitress and bartender have also been outstanding each time. Home made pastas and sauces. Fresh Scollops & shrimp Seared to perfection! Ceasar
