Fun place in DC. Lots of different floors and bars it gets a little confusing. Was there for an event so I’m not sure what the normal crowd usually like but I heard it skews young.

Pitchers is truly one of my favorite bars in DC, and it's exactly what the city's LGBTQ+ scene has been missing. The spot has three segments: the top floor is your traditional dance floor and bar, with all the energy, activity, rambunctiousness, and alcohol that you're looking for to fuel you through a long night. Their taste in music is...solid, but not quite what I was expecting? Even so, that might have just been the case for the night that my friend and I decided to stop by. We still had a really great time on the dance floor regardless. The middle floor is a restaurant-ish type area, with more seating, food, drinks, and light music. I spent most of my time, however, in the basement. Pitchers' lowest floor is home to a wonderful speakeasy called "A League of Her Own" that has just the most incredible of vibes. The bartenders are remarkably sweet, the drinks are solid, and there's just enough music to keep up the ambiance while not overpowering conversation. There are several little TV stations, some of which were showing movies (I believe they were watching Captain America: Civil War the last time I was here?), and others of which had video games. They had various Mario games, old and new, on various consoles. Pitchers is a great place to visit regardless of the vibes that you're looking for!

Shocked by the low rating, this bar is chill, fun and friendly. Thank you to gay bars that have stayed open during the pandemic and are trying to keep people safe while also giving us a place to socialize. Can't wait to go back here!

Love this spot so much it’s hard to know where to start. Haven’t tried the food but have seen plenty of other people happily eating. Love Thirst Trap Thursdays, the drag show, where the spacious dance floor becomes a runway. Make sure to check out their social media for any upcoming events; FB: “Pitchers DC”, IG: “PitchersDC”. There are so many levels to this place that when thinking about it I honestly have to mentally walk around each floor/section. It’s not too big where it’s confusing but just big enough that there’s always variety and another opportunity to mix it up in a different area. There are video games in League Of Her Own, the connected lesbian bar, and in a few other spots around pitchers. Drinks are reasonably priced given the fact that it is in a busier area of DC. The reality is though I could think of a few other bars that cater to the same clientele with similar qualities but the biggest attraction here is the attitude of the bars patrons and employees. When you first walk in it’s obvious how great of a time everyone’s having (whether they are chilling or dancing away) because of peoples smiles and warm personalities. If you’ve checked out other LGBTQ bars you’ve probably stumbled upon one of those bars that feels like model homeland and anyone who doesn’t look a certain way doesn’t feel accepted. In addition, the homeland for some reason only hires and trains their bartenders to have an attitude and to look you up and down after taking your order as if to judge whether your worth their time. I only bring up bars like that because it’s the complete opposite here, to the point that I’ve caught myself wanting to tip plenty of pitchers bartenders the price of the drink (essentially doubling my out of pocket expense) because of their sweet smile and welcoming demeanor. Plus I don’t know who’s hiring the staff but great job to the HR department for scoring some veryyyy attractive ladies and gentlemen to run the door, manage the bars, and do all the other jobs. Bottom line, I know plenty of us grew up wishing/hoping/praying for a space where we could feel accepted while just being ourselves and the reality is that this is that place. Whether your just visiting DC for a hot second, a DMV resident looking for a fun time, or someone who’s not sure if the bar scene if for them, I challenge you to check out this spot because I couldn’t imagine a single person being disappointed. Simply put it’s a lovable DC destination for all.

Genuinely one of my favorite places to go in DC. Strong drinks and wonderful atmosphere, whether you want to just chill and have a casual drink with friends or go dance in a club-like atmosphere. Bartenders and staff are always nice and respectful. I've made countless friends from coming here!

Hands down, one of the best bars in DC. Drinks are strong and the bartenders are super nice. The entire building is well kept even on its busiest nights, everyone inside was kind and welcoming. I felt safe and had a great time from the moment I first stepped into the door to the moment I left. Highly recommended.

Very nice bar and restaurant.large beer selection. Excellent cocktails. Friendly. and engaging staff. Salads looked great but I opted for the burger. It was fantastic! Perfectly flame charbroiled patties on a tasty bun piled high with fresh lettuce tomato and onion. Looking forward to going back.
