Horace And Dickies

Wasn’t sure what I wanted for lunch and was walking around the neighborhood and remembered that Horace and Dickies was within walking distance, I popped in and was greeted with love, ordered a catfish poboy (sorry no pic I inhaled it) the fish was so damn tender I forgot it was fried!!! I’ll be asleep at my desk now that sandwich was made with love!!! I will be back for more love!!! #Supportblackbusinesses

Good food with fried fish, overall have enjoyed the food I purchased at Horace and Dickies restaurant over the years and will continue going in the future. Only challenge is when making an online order, be sure to call and/or check on the Horace and Dickies restaurant website that the business is open prior to ordering using Toast takeout app or one of the other 3rd party delivery apps Uber Eats, DoorDash, etc as there is no way to cancel an order once it has been submitted through the app even if there is an error in the order, the restaurant is closed, or you want to add to the order. Otherwise, Horace and Dickies restaurant is a good place to order some fried fish or other seafood with tasty side dishes with a soul food style.

Food: Chicken wing dinner with mac and greens, and sweetened iced tea Service: Food always tastes better when it's served with a side of kindness. I was greeted with a welcome and a smile as I entered by a gem of a woman working the order counter. I asked for a recommendation, and she quickly obliged. While dining in, I witnessed her go out of her way several times to accommodate customer requests, and I could tell that she held herself to a very high service standard. She continued to greet customers with warm welcomes and friendly banter, along the way. On my way out, I let her know how I felt, and she mentioned that she had 30-years experience in dining and hospitality. It's been rare in recent years to come across such high-level, authentic customer service experiences, so I encourage Horace and Dickies to up this woman's compensation and retain the talent! I'll definitely be back.

Bought 6 seafood dinners with hush puppies today. No complaints. Its what Mom want for her pre Mother's Day meal. Food was just as good and tasty just like it was 16 years ago when they cater my father's "after repast" at the last moment. You know those relatives that don't leave after repast that started drinking and now got the munchies. Well, I had to go get a full tray of fried fish from H&D with bread. Got to have the bread to soak up all that alcohol. It was spot on with the leftover sides from the repast. They saved the day and some lives without knowing it! No drunk drivers left my house that day.

This neighborhood gem never disappoints. A part of what makes the experience so special is the kindness, generosity, and familiarity Takia and Adam always share when you come in. I’m convinced I taste the love in the food. I’m a creature of habit, so I always get the wings (fried extra well done/crispy), Mac & cheese, and greens. Nothing but great experiences there and I always look forward to my next visit.
