We discovered Moreland’s during the pandemic, and it has come to represent a safe space for us to enjoy good food close to home. Delicious food, good drinks and great ambience. When in doubt, it’s Moreland’s when we’re out.
One of the best burgers I've had in a while! My partner and I stopped by for a late lunch and I got the smash burger with tots and was just blown away by the quality of the meat and the overall balance of flavors! The flourless cake for dessert was super rich too. Great food plus great and friendly staff means I definitely have to come back and try more of the menu!
It's a really nice place, located near residential areas. The staff is super nice and kind. They offer draft beer so you have the choice to ask for a free sample of each one before ordering. Food is nothing out of the ordinary, but was really good and fast. One way of describing food is "what you are used to, but in a better way. The only downside is that you have to make reservations to dine inside, otherwise you have to stay at the bar.

We ordered spaghetti with sausage and a vegan burger. Both were delicious and the wine I ordered, Pinot Noir, was light-bodied and good. The prices were very reasonable. The waiter was courteous. The outdoor seating was the way wanted. Overall, a good eating experience. Will go there again!
Went here with my boss and coworkers for lunch. Love the environment, menu and prices. The margarita was well balanced and the food was great!
Highly recommend if you are in the area!
In walking distance of Citi Open!
We came here because it is close to the nature center. It's clear that it's a neighborhood spot because we were not the only family with a kid in the restaurant!
We were immediately seated and given water. The restaurant is pretty small, but it seemed like the staff moved quickly. We never felt rushed (there was no wait), but service was prompt. Definitely 5 stars there.
We ordered tots for my son. My husband got a burger and I ordered the fried catfish sandwich. As soon as I ordered it, I had second thoughts. I'm from Texas. I know what good fried catfish should taste like. Would it stack up this far north? I had hopes, but knew it probably wouldn't.
The tots were on point. I was glad that there were leftovers and we were able to take them home. They were perfectly fried and delicious.
My husband loved his burger. Raved about it. If you come here, get a burger. You won't be disappointed.
You may be disappointed if you get the catfish sandwich. When I first saw it, I thought, "Oh gosh, this thing is burnt or was cooked in old oil... or maybe it's over seasoned."
It was none of those things. It was bland and I have no idea why the breading is so dark and basically tasteless (its the piece that is so dark it almost looks like bacon). The tots and side salad made up for it, but I was unimpressed. I have a feeling it was a fluke as other people seemed to polish off their plates. There were several people who were clearly frequent flyers. The food and service are good. But I'd probably try something else. Or roll the dice and hope that my experience was mine alone.
All in all, worth returning to for sure. It looks like they have a nice patio for those gorgeous spring days. If you're undecided on where to eat, try here.
And order extra tots.
Just had such a great time at Moreland’s Tavern tonight. Matt, the owner was there and made it an amazing experience. My college age daughter was in town visiting and I couldn’t remember the history of the building they are in (which is a gem in and of itself) and Matt came over, pulled up a chair, brought up his laptop and phone and shared a lot of pictures of the renovation and the background of it coming into being. He shared some amazing stories of the old soda fountain from when it was a pharmacy, that some of the locals that come in still remember from way back! Oh and of course the food was excellent as always! The tots (as mentioned by others) are not to be missed, nor the neighborhood service making everyone feel as if we’ve all been friends forever. Thank you for a great experience, my daughter is jealous I have such a great, local place to come to!
Nice neighborhood watering hole and eatery. Quite possibly the only Brightwood watering hole and eatery. The beer selection is reliable. The menu is a little too limited and static but fine if you're not going there every week. Equally or even more important is the great service, reasonable prices and great outdoor seating. If only good weather lasted all year long.
Stopped in for Saturday brunch and had a great time. We ordered a carafe of mimosas, and I had the veggie hash which was amazing. There were a few families with young children, and there is a children's menu, so it's kid friendly as well.
Great experience bartenders Whitney was entertaining and friendly. Seat hoss Elizabeth was sweet and kind . Locals are a 💎 and food was unique and delicious
