One of the best places in Union Market. Love the counter service and coffee in a real cup and saucer. With bagels from NY, its like a NY breakfast deli right in DC.
Great bagels - good service. The only problem is trying to choose which bagel / sandwich combination to order.
The only place I get bagels in DC. The service here is phenomenal, even amidst the more casual vibe and atmosphere, and the bagel combo's are like nothing you've ever had, for a reasonable price ($13-$16). My go-to order here is a cinnamon raisin bagel with avocado, eggs, cheese, bacon, and they have some special honey sauce that is drizzled on top that is literally the icing on top. They also have a well-equipped bar if you need a beverage to accompany the cozy food. Prepare to enter a food coma after eating here!
Always tasty…the breakfast ones are my favorite… great option for takeout from union market but they also have twirly barstools - like diner style… and seating can sometimes be hard to find inside, so it’s nice to have options! Definitely a go to spot - especially if you’re in the mood for breakfast bagel sandwiches!
Very tasty, but have to take off a star because the fried egg on our breakfast bandito was very undercooked (tough to tell in the picture but there was some raw egg white on there) and that’s really unacceptable given the salmonella risk. Other than that the breakfast bandito would have been 5 stars because the pork was perfectly cooked, and the peppers, cheese and bagel were all very tasty.
We also went back and ordered the curry chicken salad and the sausage, egg & cheese. The chicken salad was tasty but not quite as meaty as I hoped. The sausage, egg and cheese was simple but very good and a better bargain. Fortunately the scrambled eggs were cooked fully.
This is a good place to sit and drink cocktails or non alcoholic drinks. Or eat breakfast. Or a sandwich. It’s inside Union Market but has a diner feel. Very noisy but allowed us to sit. The staff were helpful and capable of curating a cocktail.

We come here pretty often and it’s always delicious. The Rude Socialist is my go-to. The coffee and the mimosas are good and we never wait too long for the food. They’re very nice about giving us cups of water for our dog.
A delicious neighborhood sandwich shop, a cool&well designed place. Really love the lox & bagel. The Matzoh ball soup was yummy, perfect for a cold January day. Can’t wait to try again. Kiss, Olan
Delicious! The bagel was made very well and this restaurant has clever pairings and I liked another reviewer's comment, the sandwiches are delightfully messy! Staff were friendly and the shop was cute with some seating inside and plenty outside seating.
Also, I want to highlight they have gluten free plain and everything bagels. The staff was very courteous and knowledgeable with this -- my mother has an allergy and even thought I had forgotten to request this, they made sure to place her gluten free sandwich in a separate bag! We were very grateful.
I definitely recommend and will return if I'm given the chance!
Stopped by here and had a bacon egg and cheese on a gluten free bagel! Well prepared and the bagel was nice and light.
Easy over the counter bagel joint. Service is friendly and the bagel, messily good. Got myself a “in your face” breakfast sandwich which consist of a sunny side up over mozza cheese and pesto spread with hot salami. I wished I’m eating with utensils because I really dislike getting my fingers messy. Hehehee
Saw some other patrons ordered a bloody mary and it looks legit.
