Even with the tight seating arrangements I love this place! Food, staff, sound system, drinks & price are really cool.
A lot of funny acts come through here. Parking is right next door (pay). Pretty good atmosphere. Decent food. Friendly staff. I've been several times and I never had a problem. My only complaint is that they sit four people at a table the size of an end table.. 6 at the size of a small coffee table. And it is a tight squeeze so get use to bumping up to strangers. But it is all ok, everyone is there to laugh and once the show starts, you don't notice. Go with friends or become friends with the people at your table. Seriously it is better than watching a movie and more affordable.
It is situated in a cozy and cool venue located downstairs. For each show, there is a two item minimum with appetizer prices from $10-15 and entrees from $16-25. There is an open bar, so they can make a variety of drinks which range from $10-$15 cocktails. The menu is available online when one books tickets, which is nice.
The food is subpar but I was impressed that their burgers contained a half a pound of beef. The servers are nice and the layout of the club makes it so that almost all the seats have a good view of the stage. I would still recommend arriving early if one wants to be closer to the main stage.
Tony Woods and Friends was a funny and exciting show to watch. It was an excellent experience for my first visit to the DC Improv. The pictures are at the end when the group of comedians attempted to do a group photo.
I had an awesome time here on Wednesday night! It was a class graduation and everybody was actually really funny. The drinks were strong and the mozzarella sticks were good. Would for sure go back for another event!
Okay!!! So I was thoroughly impressed with the booking of this show. I went to the show alone and I received a followup up phone call from the club to verify my seating arrangements such as sitting with a group or coming alone. Loved that! Parking is off-street parking so you may have to walk a little bit to get there. When I arrived the check process was smooth and I was seated at the “singles” table. Now this could’ve been done better. The table that I was seated at was 6 ft and there were three chairs on each side of table. Now you do the math…:if the chairs were 18-20 inches wide it was a TIGHT FIT!! Now this may not have been as big of an issue if the show wasn’t sold out or if I was sitting with a group I knew . They definitely should’ve removed two chairs from the table to provide adequate space. There is a two item
Minimum that must be ordered throughout the show. For food..I would recommend the dips or fries. The Buffalo wings I had were not seasoned at all.
The service was top tier. The waiters were punctual and cash out was easy. Overall, I would definitely return and think it was a good value for money. Things I would do different is arrive earlier so I could have a better selection of chairs to choose from or pay for a reserved seat so I could be more comfortable. I would also eat before I come and just order drinks to satisfy the purchase requirements.
My first time coming here and it was a very good time. We ended up getting general seating which was very tight and a little less personal but if you love networking, this is perfect because you’re sitting next to strangers at the same table as you.
The buffalo chicken wings weren’t the greatest, but the mixed drinks were good. They make you purchase two items per person which is interesting but we ended up seeing Adam Davis and he was funny. I throughly enjoyed the show!
Now that we've done it looking forward to going again. Loved the intimate feel and easy access location. Didn't have that gross smell or feel that some spots do. Clean with space to walk through. Good view of the stage throughout the room. Food was bar style but didn't have a greasy instant heartattack taste. Was fresh and good. Service was on point.
Food was fantastic. Staff was pleasant and fast! My server didnt miss a beat. Im kinda short, but it didnt matter where they sat me i was able to see pretty well and if by chance i couldn't, they have 2 tv screens for viewing on either side of the comedians. They had open mic night. Very good show! Would love to go again!
What a fun night at DC improv. The service was good and the show fantastic. Know before you go - each person is required to purchase two items. Definitely worth it!
First time coming here. Things were smooth. We had the general admission so i came earlier to secure the seats, and the other people could come in later and checked-in with the purchaser's last name.
The food and drinks were all delicious with fair prices. The service was great too. The best part for me was that they sent the check without disturbing our show experience. One time in NYC the clerk just stood by me with the machine on hand in the middle of the show, and i was completely distracted:( Here they put the check on everyone's table, took them away, and left the tray with receipt & card. Swift and efficient but not disturbing!
I didn't know they would have opening comedians just like opening singers for concerts ✨ the two openers were so funny! I love the gecko's jokes🙌🏻 (sorry Cole but somehow you did look alike....)
Another interesting thing was that the washingtonians were ON TIME 😂 the door opened at 6:15 and the show started at 7:30. I got there at 6:10 to wait for my friend and there was already a long line!!!🤣
This was my first time attending since the renovation, and I really love the new feel the venue gives off. It feels more open and inviting, and of course, the show was phenomenal! DeRay showed out!
