This is the best place in the world. Ilayda is the greatest person I've ever met. She makes the best drinks. And as a fellow bartender is the best place to go as fellow industry. The staff here is dope and she is a solid VS diamond.
One of my favorite places to grab a bite and drink after work. Calm,refreshing atmosphere, amazing burgers and cold beer. What more could you ask for?

Amazing find. Desperados is not the most obvious place to go, but it has amazing food, decent beers, and good service and atmosphere. It's a great place to go if you actually want to talk to the person you are with. To often, these types of places are much too loud and obtrusive. Also, the cajun burger was incredible and sweet potato fries are always a solid choice.
The burgers were good as well as the ambiance. However, when we ordered takeout from the bar it took 40 minutes to bring us the four burgers and fries. Consider that they only have five burgers on the menu and you have to wonder if they could slaughter a cow, butcher it, and grill it all in the 40 minutes we were there. Overall a good experience, I know there new, and the food was good
...smaller, darker, louder, and younger. It's more accessible too, as you can see the musicians through the window just below street level. I loved the cozy exposed-brick bar and off-beat feel to this place, and the attentive waitstaff are always on hand for drink refills and an extra order of those yummy fries. Happy hour, including small plates and drinks, til 8pm.
Amazing . The food was amazing ,the service was excellent . Overall this one of the best top restaurants I have ever been to . Everything about this place will have you speechless. Will be back again . They are super friendly and their food speaks for them. Just go there and you wouldn’t be disappointed. Bartender sorry I forgot his name but go see him . The drinks are to die for .
This is a vibing spot! The staff are pleasant, friendly and on the ball. The happy hour is impressive. The drinks are great, and the atmosphere is fresh for DC (definitely more of a NY vibe). I thoroughly enjoyed this spot. If you haven’t checked them out, do it! Low-key, cool and stylish.

Such a great hole in the wall! We had a great time at their happy hour good margaritas for $5! Till 7 pm as well every day! The appetizers are standard bar food but they have a specialty burger list if you’re hungrier. If you’re looking for a spot to go before you go out here you go!
Shocked to see that Desperados is a cocktail bar now! Menu cocktails are great, bar is beautiful, bartenders are friendly and know their stuff. William took good care of me and made some great custom cocktails too!
Genuinely 5 stars across the board. Great atmosphere and decoration, prompt yet privacy respecting service and good food. I had the Hawaiian burger and loved the grilled pineapple on it. My partner had a BBQ chicken Quesadilla both were delicious. Looking for a quiet and clean spot open late on U street? Look no further. I’ll be returning.
Burgers were very good. Bartender was very polite. Owner was present and we talked. He had the bartender's back when needed. Atmosphere was great, with great service. Drinks were pricey. While there are cheaper bars on U-Street, the prices are what I would expect for dinner and drinks in DC

A charming, elegant space, with good drinks and even better staff- what a find! I spent a few days in DC and was lucky enough to stumble upon this place the first night. Great happy hour with food and drinks! But what kept us coming back for more was the bartender, Emory. He was so friendly and welcoming and had us laughing the whole time. I came back EVERY NIGHT of my trip just to see him. Don't miss this spot, chic and cozy!
