Excellent happy hour with well priced sushi rolls and drinks. Great place if you're in the Noma neighborhood! Loved the dimly lit environment and sitting at the bar watching the sushi chefs.

12/2023 update: everything is fire. The shrimp redeemed itself. Our server was so sweet and made our friends birthday such a beautiful experience. Prior review: Great happy hour spot! Enjoyed the drinks and sushi. Not impressed with the fried shrimp appetizer.

Service is always so good here, shoutout to John at the bar, but the food is simply to die for. I have had their Yuzu Fuego twice now & I always get their miso soup & their hot tea because it’s just that good. Their dessert is probably the best thing I have had in a very long time, the molten cake with ganache, the crispies on top, the ginger ice cream the caramel center… OMG so good.

Omakase was well worth the expense - truly one of the finest and funnest culinary experiences I have ever had. Each and every bite was a work of art. We will absolutely be back!

Everything was solid and above expectations when it came to service, atmosphere, and taste. My only one would be the cocktail "Peso for your thoughts" was underwhelming and just taste simply like mezcal and lime juice. My rating is a 4.5/5 stars. I plan to visit again soon!

What a delightful surprise! I've had this place on my must-visit list for a whole year now, given my monthly trips to DC during that time. This area truly shines with its array of hip bars, restaurants, and charming cafes. It gives me the kind of vibes I get when I chill in Williamsburg in Brooklyn. For my meal, I got the Salmon Uzukuri and received a local's recommendation to try the Yuxu Fuego. Both dishes were absolutely outstanding! The Salmon Uzukuri is sashimi-style, delicately placed in a boat-shaped dish and generously bathed in a sauce so good, I considered sipping it straight from the dish. As for the Yuzu Fuego, it's a roll bursting spicy flavors of yuzu and a perfect hint of heat from jalapenos. This yuzu and jalapeno combination is undeniably a winning one. I'd definitely recommend going here if you are in the area. Worth it!!

O-ku out does itself every time!!! Sam was our waiter for our 5 year anniversary and she made our dinner so special, with her hospitality and attention to detail! Everything from the drinks to food was impeccable. We especially enjoyed the firecracker roll & Tokyo chicken. Thank you to everyone at o-ku!!!

Came here recently for dinner twice in a week—once on a weekday during happy hour and another time on the weekend. Their happy hour ends at 7pm—with select small plates for $10-12, select sushi rolls for $9-11, and $4 off the first five cocktails listed on the menu. For appetizers, the Rock Shrimp and Dumpling Dim Sum were good. I enjoyed the Crab Crunch Sushi Roll—would recommend that! The Firecracker Roll was good too, has a nice tempura crunch but note, the salmon inside is raw. And the Unagi Eel ($7) was amazing—highly recommend that! Ambiance is nice inside, but it’s quite dark and the air conditioning was on full blast—it was very cold. And the music was on loud so we had trouble hearing each other.

Similar to the sushi restaurant I had in Hawaii, but they have more fish over there. I understand that seafood is expensive here so the price and the amount of fish are reasonable. The fish was good. I’m surprised they can keep it that fresh considering the length of delivery. That drink is definitely my favorite. The service was good and I like my seats because I could see how they made the sushi. Try all the salmon dishes and I wasn’t disappointed.

The atmosphere and service here are AMAZING! I'd kind of forgotten what it was like to have a great server who tells you the specials and everything. Also, the Sugar and Spicd cocktail is one of my favorites ever. It's habanero-infused vodka and passion fruit, and it's only $9 during happy hour. The salmon roll was very good too, although I would pass on the dumplings next time.
