For daytime sandwiches it's a good (although pricey $11-$15 for one sandwich) option. Sandwiches are heavy, but yummy. Dinner is solid, but not special. Dishes lacked memorable flavor. Recommended for a quick, usually no-wait option at night.
Great service has a great experience. I ordered a toasted ham sandwich for my lunch break and it was one of the best sandwiches I've had in awhile. Ask for Vanessa she's such a sweet heart with great customer service she made sure we had everything we needed. The interior is really nice. Rustic chic. Have officially made this soot my go to for lunch.
Pricey but amazing sandwiches. Pictured is Spring Lamb Gyro.
Food is excellent. Cocktails are perfect. Small selection of wines, but very good quality. Overall staff is very friendly. Bar tender Jason was truly fantastic, especially for an out of town sports fan. He is the reason we stayed for more (the food and drinks didn't hurt though)
This place is a creative and comfortable setting for drinks and quality food. I don't know how often the menu changes but the baby goat sandwich is quite good. The chef has a tasting menu as well.
I eat here often. They have recently expanded their menu to include pasta dishes, fries, and more. I always get the lamb gyro which is the best thing they have. (My opinion) They have always offered handmade sodas, which is good depending on who makes it. The herb fries are so good but you have to eat them immediately. They are shoestring fries so they get cold quickly. I usually will get their handmade daily fresh potato chips with salt and pepper as well, they are addictive.
The G Tasting Menu is an incredible experience. The food is extremely unique and exploratory w/o being intimidating or overwhelming. The Isabella name gave me high expectations before my visit, which is usually a set up for a let down, but not in this case. My date and I finished each serving, literally fighting for the last bites. G was very welcoming and lacked the pretentiousness of other tasting menu restaurants that I have tried. The staff was attentive, carefully watching over our table to ensure we have fresh silverware, ample water/beverages, and no empty plates. Over all a great value for an incredible experience. We will be returning very soon.
vG by Mike Isabella proves that it's not only Blagden Alley's Sundevich that can make a good sandwich. My Monday night dinner buddy and I went here on....well...a Monday night and finding seats was not an issue. We give it 4 stars and here's why:
1) The sandwiches: They really are good. Each one is unique. My buddy and I each ordered the monthly special sandwiches designed by DC journalists and both November options were amazing.
2) The service: They were fast and on it!
What prevented them from a 5th star was the layout. It's attached to Mike Isabella's sit down restaurant so we expected G to be a grab and go. Nope. The host sits you down and you are expected to tip since it's sit down. Since it's sandwiches, it felt a little odd.
If you're in NW near Shaw, definitely give G a try!
Great service! I'm loving my Strawberry and Bubbles. So far the sandwiches are worth the wait. It's a little busy but the entire staff is taking great care of us.
New menu of mostly sandwiches is very tasty but doesn't present tons of options. Sandwiches are very bread-heavy (large rolls), but have good flavors. Service was great as always.
