Love this place!! I eat here at least twice a week!! Those chicken thighs are magical, and the service is always super friendly - no matter how high-maintenance my orders get I can't tell you how awesome it is to have a delicious, legitimately healthy fast-casual option that's not just another salad joint. And it's reasonably priced to boot - which is amazing considering how much higher the quality of ingredients and food prep is than most D.C. fast casual places! Be sure to get the mac and cheese. You're welcome.

What a great restaurant - likely to be my new "go to" place to eat. Delicious food, reasonable prices, hearty portions, friendly staff. Love the low-carb riced cauliflower alternative to rice! The location has a great vibe and I appreciate owners' decision to use humanely raised chicken. Andrew & Dan, keep up the good work - you've got a winner!

Great service, quick food preparation, and fresh taste. I ordered the Barbecue Ranch plate with the chicken breast and Mac & cheese side. The chicken breast was well seasoned and tender, and the kale tasted fresh and citrusy. The Mac & Cheese tasted like a frozen dinner meal, which isn’t an insult, it just wasn’t anything to write home about. Overall, it’s a decent spot if you want casual dining in the “low” price range, that is both semi-healthy, and appetizing (try the plain the Chicken Breast plate for a healthier option).

Great lunch spot for specific vibe - lots of vegetarian and GF options and fresh salads. Great for groups with tables that can accommodate 12 and great for solo dining with window high top option. All around good option if you’re craving healthy/fresh (don’t go there if you’re craving a burger ha ha -meat options are chicken or tofu and bacon). The trays are reminiscent of cafeteria food, but if you like your food separated like I do it’s awesome for takeout - Each item stays in its own compartment. Not sure if will be back, but like I said great spot for a specific vibe.

Farmbird strives to serve fresh, local, and flavorful chicken and sides. The chickens are humanely and locally raised (Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Delaware) without growth hormones or antibiotics. They are committed to serving high-quality, never-frozen chicken. And the menu items are prepared from scratch daily, focusing on fresh ingredients. If you’re familiar with some of the other nicer, fresh chicken chains in DC (Nando’s, Chicken + Whisky, etc.), Farmbird is a little different. There’s no focus on South American brining techniques, or South African preparation methods. Their focus is on fresh, quality ingredients, and you’ll notice that when you’re eating and tasting your meal. The restaurant sits right on the popular H Street NE corridor and is easy to get to using public transportation. Parking, however, might be difficult to find depending on the day and time you’re there. Their menu focuses on sandwiches, salads, sides, and plates. They have lots of gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegetarian-friendly options. Staff members are friendly, attentive, and polite. They genuinely showed an interest in explaining the menu and helping you pick a good meal option. If you are a picky eater or like to stray from prescribed menus, they will help you with making substitutions. If you’re hungry, I’d recommend getting a plate with 2 sides. I had the chicken breast over brown basmati rice with avocado basil, and sides of roasted baby bok choy and mac & cheese. The chicken was as good as I could have hoped. Nice crisp on the outside, but still tender and juicy inside. The avocado basil portion that came with it, was a nice complement. Mac & cheese was pretty decent, but the baby bok choy could have been prepared better to maintain a little crispness. I sampled a couple other cuts of chicken and sides from the plates of the others with me. They all had good impressions of the chicken. They have a good number of interesting drinks available (from Purity coconut water to Sprecher root beer), as well as alcoholic drinks (i.e. ciders, craft beers, Gansett, etc.). They even have a kids’ menu, if that applies to you. They offer a limited dessert menu that focuses on cookies. If you can’t finish your meal, ask for a lid and bag, and you can easily take your left-overs home without a mess. I left full, content, and pleased with the flavors and healthy choices.

I really like that they use fresh and healthy ingredients overall. It is a good option if you are looking for something quick but healthy. I ordered the avocado chicken with kale on the side, which was good but a bit insipid. The service was good. Price around $12.

The food was delicious and filling. The staff was so kind, not "subtly" rushing us even though we stayed close to closing. I will definitely go again. The Mac and Cheese and Potato Salad both came with a wrap.

My body is absolutely thanking me after my visit here! Accidentally stumbled upon this place thinking it was something else I'll be back on purpose! Fresh, healthy, tasty meals seasoned nicely and the sauces added just a little extra zing. They did something here I love: they made sure to flavor every individual ingredient. They also accommodated my husband's onion allergy. Not every place does that, and it's really, really appreciated This means every bite was good. Every single bite, from the chicken to the kale to the sweet potato. Everything was fresh - and yes, there is a difference. Nothing tasted frozen. On top of that, the staff was fantastic and helpful, and even patient when it took me a while to figure out the menu. If I lived here, I would definitely be a regular. Well done, Farmbird.

Mouth watering fresh healthy food served in about two minutes. What more could you ask for? Must visit for me each time I come to town. Would love for the owners to open one in Utah.

This was our first stop upon arriving in Washington D.C. My son ordered the Spicy Roasted Fresno and I tried the Spicy Chicken Salad. Both were very tasty. The prices of the items are more than fair and the service was phenomenal. Very friendly and helpful staff. It was a nice welcome to D.C.!
