Great food. Chicken and waffles were amazing. Service was great our waitress was top notch. She made recommendations and the food was on point.
Went in for brunch. It wasn't busy at all so service was very fast and we had an attentive waiter. The food was delicious!!!! I had the vanilla French toast and shrimp & grits. The shrimp and grits was definitely unique and seasoned well. My mom had the chicken and waffles. She enjoyed her meal and her chicken was seasoned well! I will definitely be back for brunch again.
Had a wonderful time watching my cowboys be down to Detroit lions as a matter fact every time I've been to Ben's and watch my cowboys play with one and I've had a wonderful time all the bartenders were extraordinary the food on point coming from a chef I'll be back
Had a great dinner last night. The fish sandwich was everything! Our waiter Tito was the best spirited waiter ever.
The wait was non-existent, the food delicious and Brit, our server was on point (attentive and consistent). On a whole, EXCELLENT dining experience.

First trip to DC and was told we needed to try mumbo sauce from one of the conductors on our Amtrak that is from DC. Found Next Door and liked the extensive menu. It is a bit loud , had a DJ when we were there, and the restaurant was pretty full so again a bit loud. Had several TVs with football games on, a very lively atmosphere. Our server was Peggy S and she was very nice and helpful with the menu and bar suggestions. We ordered bone in and boneless wings and fries. Had the bone in wings with the house dry rub that is wonderful, sweet but savory and a little smokey. Ordered buffalo, ranch and mumbo sauces on the side and all were amazing. Boneless wing in mumbo sauce that was also amazing,, so good we ordered an order of dry rub wings to go. Also the bar drinks are strong and very good. So there is a 20% service charge added to your check that is divided for the staff, and there is a lot of staff, some goes to your server but there is an option to tip your server separately if you choose.
I visited this place for the first time. Gianni was an amazing server. She was kind, attentive and made great recommendations. I loved my shrimp and grits. I will be returning.
Food was very good. Great portions! Brunch menu and drink menu brunch prices were great! The atmosphere was very 'clubbish' and it was very loud.
One thing we noticed was a heavy sewage smell that was trying to be masked by the incense burning. I couldn't stop smelling it. I'll get it another try in a couple of weeks.
Overall, a nice time.
First time visiting this establishment. Environment was very fun and the vibes are high, good music occasionally you may have to yell - great spot to come and hangout with friends, ordered the jerk penne pasta, was not the best but fulfilling. The appetizers will be my choice and the drinks are amazing - pretty extensive food and drink menu. Also, there’s happy hour every day of the week, what a treat!

Read a lot of reviews and this spot kept coming up as a suggestion. The food was superb. They make very simple food taste amazing. My favorite part of the meal was the Kale with smoked Turkey 11/10. Also, our waitress was knowledgeable, attentive, and very personable.
Ambiance was amazing, chill vibe with great music...lets not forget the food!!! I ordered the crab deviled eggs & fried catfish fingers....LAWD, BEST food I ate in DC! Our server was amazing too!! Definitely will be going back!
The shrimp and Grits were really good, the cauliflower was good but little spicy. One thing the appetizer and the main course came at the same time. Servers were also friendly. The drinks were on point! Very nice vibe. Definitely going back.
Soooooooo delicious!!! The seafood is perfection! Had to order multiple appetizers and i am beyond satisfied!! Whoever the chef is here went above and beyond and did their thang! Will be back again. I never give anyone a 10/10, but this place hit my special seafood spot! 🔥
The atmosphere was cozy, the place isn't big so plan on making reservations. The grits was awesome my salmon was underseasoned but the turkey sausage was good. The waitress was attentive but the bottomless mimosa was watered down, we tried both the pineapple and the orange juice one.
Bens nextdoor has a very nice atmosphere. Went there for brunch and the music definitely added to the vibe. The staff seems to get a bit flustered with large groups though. I had to wait quite some time for what I ordered (I looked like my original order may have been given to a different table), but I got it, I'd rate it about a 7.5/10.
The only real issue I have is that they only have 2 restroom stalls in the establishment. By the time we finished with brunch, there was a long line to the toilet after having bottomless mimosas.
Overall, nice picturesque place with good music and decent drinks.
I'll start by saying the food was excellent and flavorful and just down right soulful AND came out fast! Hats off to the Chef and kitchen team. The customer service has need for improvement... apparently there is a hard rule there about not sharing the "bottomless" mimosa. My wife was simply unable to finish hers, so without wanting to waste I drank the last half glass and they charged us for two ($22ea). Decided not to argue it further, but will say better to use good judgment and common sense with your customers so that they will want to come back. Customer service is the only reason I will not give 5-stars.
My best friend came into town and we want to do something fun so we went to Ben Next Door we had a ball. The atmosphere was great and the food was delicious 😋. The music selection was on point to match the unlimited mimosas that came in 3 types cranberry, pineapple, or orange juice. I will definitely be visiting again soon. The only thing I did not like were the bathrooms they were not being kept up at all I went to the two located towards the back and the back of the toilet was missing from one hopefully this will be fixed. But there was toilet paper, running water, and soap so I was good. I definitely recommend checking out the brunch here.

Two hours is more than enough time to get your fill. My favorite brunch entree is the fish and grits. The catfish is fried to a perfect crisp and the grits and broth compliment it well.
If you’re like us, you like your mimosa carafe with less juice lol so be sure to ask your server for their suggestions!
A great Black owned business to visit when you’re in the city! 10/10 always.

Brunch we had Catfish and grits, the vanilla French toast platter, the crab cake eggs and the cocktail was the duke. Everything was good, atmosphere was cool, the only thing is parking which that is not Ben’s issue. The parking is $15 about a block or so away if you can’t find street parking.
I ended up going to Ben's Chilli Bowl coz the next door place had slow and uninterested servers.
