I went to Shaw's Tavern to celebrate a friend's birthday brunch, and it was an exceptional experience! The staff was incredibly accommodating, ensuring our celebration went off without a hitch. Everything here is above average. Food is good, service is quick, and there’s lots of seating outside and inside.
Fries weren’t as hot as I would have wanted but the burger was tasty. Also recommend getting truffle fries instead of regular fries.
Great Bottomless Brunch! Our server made sure we always had full champagne bottles on the table. The Shaw Skillet 🍳 is a must. Tasty and delicious
Solid neighborhood spot… would go here for convenience and consistency, but it’s nothing super special in my book. The burger was ok. Drinks fine. There’s karaoke sometimes!! That’s super fun!
I really enjoy Shaw's Tavern. It is clean, casual and their spirit selection is very tasteful and affordable. They allow dogs in the patio . More importantly they always have something going on. Bartenders are cool too. For me they have a big plus since the parking around them is zone 1&2.
I hosted my birthday party at Shaw's Tavern and absolutely loved it. I really recommend hosting your event here - their communications was super easy and straightforward. We had the entire upstairs floor to ourselves and I was easily able to hook up my own music to their sound system. We had so much fun!

Good place to watch a World Cup game.
We were in town and looking for a place for my son to watch the Argentina game (by the way, it was a great game going into a OT and then a kick-off). My son had the grilled chicken wings, which were good and crispy. I had the country fried steak, which was cooked well. The only thing I could say about the meal was the biscuit was a bit dry, and what I mean is that when you broke it in half, it crumbled like a cracker, it was ok because I got my eggs cooked over medium so I just scooped it up with the egg yolk. We also had the chicken and waffles. The meals were good we just wish they had come out a little hotter.
The service we had was really good, I didn't get the man's name, but he was on point with our drinks and food and always asking if we needed anything.
Menus are viewed via app, and payment for meals is via app as well.
Look, imma keep it 1000%, I have NEVER left a review for ANY establishment ever, but I HAD TO for Shaw’s Tavern. I’m from The Bronx, NY & my lady and I spent the weekend in DC for a basketball game and Brunch Vibes. The original place we went to was a long wait. Shaw’s has plenty of space and the food is IMPECCABLE. I had the biscuits and sausage gravy and my lady had the cajun shrimp and grits. EXTREMELY flavorful and a generous portion…..not to mention BOTTOMLESS MIMOSAS for $20/person. We WILL be back VERY soon. The only negative I have about the place, which is not really their fault, is the parking. It’s mostly area permit parking, but there are some side streets that are metered. We went on a Sunday btw. Everyone Enjoy!
My friend and I just finished our finals. The food was delicious with great service and a nice atmosphere. We ordered the herb Atlantic salmon with rice. The sauce and the rice were delicious. I also ordered the hibiscus house margarita. So good! I’m new to DC so it’s been quite a surprise to see that most restaurants don’t open until 5pm around here. Thanks to Shaw’s Tavern, I didn’t starve this afternoon. 😄
Go-to for Girls Brunch. Bottomless mimosas are a great deal and the food is always delicious. I’ve had the regular and salmon Benedict’s, hash, wings were great, and pictured below the brunch pizza is YUM! Great portions for the price.
