Everything is just perfect about this place. The staff is incredibly friendly (request Brandon or Margo as your server), management very accommodating and of course, the food is delicious. Appreciate the flexibility from the kitchen to modify menu options (ie. Adding Italian sausage to the delicious vegan pasta option). A perfect spot if you're craving a really good meal at a place with ambiance. Only place on Barracks Row with outside heat lamps so an excellent choice during chilly nights if you're a pet owner. Our only regret is that it took us so long to discover this charming place!

We had a fantastic brunch yesterday. We had a mix at the table of eggs florentine, sausage gravy, biscuits, eggs, and omelets. The bottomless mimosas (for $12!) were fantastic. Our server, Mario, was amazing and really helped us enjoy our time. Highly recommend!!!

We had an Italian brunch/lunch on Saturday. The outdoor seats were limited and mostly taken, so we decided to sit indoor by the window. I ordered the goat cheese omelette, which was rich in flavor and had a great portion. The ice coffee was decent. My friend ordered Italian sausage gravy, and the taste was a bit plain for us but I think it's just how Italian likes to eat, and it fitted well with the provided ketchup or hot sauce. Overall, the food and service were all good, and I deem the price were fair for what we were offered.

My fiancé and I went to Lavagna for Date night located in SE DC. It’s been on my list to try for a while. The host staff was very friendly when seating us and taking our order. We tried the Bruschetta and Apple Salad for our starter before getting into the entrees. The Apple Salad was my favorite dish. I tried the Rigatoni Italian Sausage and she had the Carbonara. The food was good but it was missing that X factor. I really liked the old school 80s style theme they have. We enjoyed ourselves there.

This was my first time here and definitely not my last! I had spaghetti bolognese, cheesecake AND tiramisu. Everything was delicious! Service was great even though they had a full house - they were responsive and fast. Looking forward to the warmer months so I can have a meal outside. Highly recommend!

Enjoyed a quick and classic spaghetti bolognese (beef & pork) with a nice glass of red wine the waiter suggested. The noodles were thick (seemed to be homemade) and blended beautifully with the flavorful bolognese. It was very well prepared. I was not offered bread but would have enjoyed soaking up the last bit of sauce. The service was efficient. I was there just before 5 ahead of the evening rush. I’d definitely go back. The menu is thoughtful and I’d describe it as straight forward. Not extensive but still with a good offering. Just when I thought I had accomplished a nice quiet evening, one of the waiters stomped out apparently proclaiming he was not coming back. It’s a tuff time for the restaurant industry. I have come to expect good food with average service…

Lovely all around. Service was attentive but not overbearing. Good choice of wines. Food was delicious. Tuscan shrimp, apple salad, and Ricotta ravioli were divine. Brussel sprouts awesome. Mascarpone cheesecake and gelato were a wonderful end to a great dinner.

I come here with often and the good is always the same quality. Brunch has gotten popular over the years, you'll have to call ahead and make reservations just in case. For brunch, I always get the carbonara or sausage biscuit gravy. I love the wine selection when I get dinner there. The pasta is made in house which makes a huge difference. I've tried almost everything on the menu :).

My girlfriend and I ate here tonight (11/9/23). We both wanted to eat for a long time and were originally going to go to Matchbox, but we saw the outdoor area and a sign that advertised 50% carbonara on Thursdays which we had to have! For drinks -- I had the Italian Pilsner and my gf got a cocktail spitzer. Everything was so fantastic, our server was so polite and courteous and treated us very well, filled our water like 5 times excellent service! The carbonara had thick spaghetti with delicious bacon chunks in carbonara sauce straight from grandma's kitchen (although I'm not Italian!). The other dishes we saw in the restaurant looked delicious as well. The drinks were really good and the italian pilsner was a pleasant surprise! The venue is right out of little italy, and the decor is a walled brick with cozy seating and tho we visited on a colder DC night -- we could've sat outside in the front if we wanted to. The service, atmosphere and food were really fantastic and this may be my new favorite restaurant on 8th street! Good for: Family dinners, date night, bring out of town guests for nice dinner, night out with friends, you name it! 5/5 stars, will be visiting here again.

Showed up on a Sunday and was pleased it was half price bottle wine night. The portions are massive! The fresh bread was good. I appreciated the Frank Sinatra overhead. There was something off about my dish though, maybe the taste, maybe because it was a little souper than I was expecting. Seemed like the owner made his rounds to every table so they really care about customer satisfaction - says a lot these days!

This is a wonderful quaint little place. We had reservations and the place filled up shortly after it opened so I would recommend making them especially for brunch. They have house made limoncellos and variations using different fruit, today was Ruby red and orange. Very good. Coffee was good, as we're the dishes. I did not like my strawberry Bellini but everything else met my expectations.

We came here for bottomless mimosa and the service was exceptional. Our waiter made sure our glasses were never empty! We ordered the spaghetti carbonara and the lobster risotto. The spaghetti is okay but the lobster risotto is very tasty and definitely worth a try.
