Ruby Tuesday

I've worked in restaurants for many many years. Ruby Tuesday's, obviously, is a huge corporate chain of restaurants. Therefore, they have very specific training and quality standards. This location was up to par with any other Ruby Tuesday's I've ever been to. So while I'm not a huge fan of large corporate restaurants, I really don't have any complaints about this one. I got their deviled egg appetizer which my dad and I enjoyed. And for my entree, I ordered their Triple Play plate, which was ribs chicken and shrimp with side items. I always enjoy their ribs, the chicken was nice and juicy, and the shrimp was not my favorite, but okay. Our server was friendly and good at her job, even while a trainee was shadowing her.

They had another large party (18) come in ahead of us and we ended up waiting or over an hour to get our food. The waitress apologized several times but we were never offered any kind of compensation. A free drink or a dessert would have been nice. When I did get my meal (bourbon pork chop) it was very dry and I think they ran out of the mashed potatoes because the portion was very small. On the plus side, the salad bar was very good. They just need some new labels for the dressings. Overall, not a very pleasant experience this time.

My son and I ordered the dinner special (2 entrees, side, dessert and all you can eat salad bar - but we exchanged this for a second side). Both his sirloin and my half rack of ribs were excellent. We shared a peach melina for dessert. It was good but neither of us would likely order it again. Service was great.

Good salad bar - worth coming here. Peach lemonade was also good. Sliders were not cooked as well as I like, but the waitres didn't ask and I didn't specify. The sliders were supposed to have onion straws but came without any and the waitress brought me French's onions from the salad bar when I asked about them. Did not offer to refill drinks.

Overall, a typical Ruby Tuesday experience. Salad bar was in good shape although lack of a Caesar dressing made me a little sad. Steak was cooked perfectly and had good flavor. The new-to-us roasted cauliflower dishes were quite yummy. Polite server tended to us well throughout the meal, but missed a coupon on our dining companion's check.

We go for the salad bar. Usually it's good. Lunch time seems to have some management issues. Our last visit saw a single server with 8 tables at one point. I don't know if the other servers were late (saw them start to help bring food out eventually). The host just sort of sat around best we could tell, not helping with drink orders or whatever. Another time we went on a Fed. holiday and they were packed at lunch (which is unusual) and they were struggling with lack of staff. Generally, they're pretty slow to bring anything out. That said, we went there during dinner service and things were generally better.

First time there....terrible service. Food was ok. Entire staff seemed like it was their first day...no communication between them. Waiter was assigned tables on opposite ends of the restaurant and we never saw him after taking our drink order. 45 min and still no food. Manager tried his best to fix the problem but broken is broken. They screwed up the discount and couldn't even remember to bring out a glass of water after it all for my 7yr old. Also had to find my own place settings and straw. Failed minimum requirements and the place was very quiet. Hate to see when it's busy.
