The Grill

I've walked by the Grill many times on my way to the Embassy theater. It always looks packed and a lot fun. The part of the restaurant on the street is opened up in the summer to make it seem like you're outside. I finally tried the Grill for lunch a few weeks ago. It was much more low-key than I expected. The service was great. The quality of the food was OK, not super, but I had an enjoyable time.

They have opened again. However, it disgusted me. Here's why: - a small cockroach came out of the check book - the salmon smelled bad Good things: - nice server - the lamb kebob was very good I think the problem is MANAGEMENT. I read other reviews and most people complain about the "new management." Won't go again. Won't recommend it.

This review is based on the delivery service. We placed an order for food this evening. It arrived in a reasonable time frame, within the predicted window. However the order was incomplete. I was told by the driver to let the restaurant know and they would send him right back. I called and they apologized and said he will come right back to finish the delivery. It has been over an hour, we have long since finished our meal. I called the ordering service and they requested a refund on my behalf for the undelivered items. The restaurant declined the refund because they stated there driver was 30 seconds away. That was 5 minutes ago. I'll end this review with the total time once the driver arrives. For the record, it was $6.00 for a few drinks they forgot that we wanted a refund. Not the whole meal. Now the drinks have arrived 10 minutes after there quoted 30 seconds and they aren't even the drinks we ordered! Amazing. All in all approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes to correct a mistake, decline a small refund, and still mess up the order. Won't be ordering from here again.

Decent for a local place. We had the falafel appetizer, which was great, and split one of their combo platters, which was enough for two lightish eaters. The chicken was excellent, beef was ok, I liked the lamb (I usually don't), rice was nothing to write home about. The baklava was tube shaped and not the usual big hunk of nuts, pastry, and honey that in used to, but was still good.
