Mulan Taiwanese Restaurant

A convenient Chinese/ Taiwanese restaurant with bland food taste. We ordered Lo mein noodles and eggplant basil. The eggplant basil tasted fine but the noodles lacks any salt, sauce or spice. Preparation of food hardly took 5 minutes. The wait time from food ordered to food delivered at the table was hardly 5-7 minutes. A big issue here is the servers are too hard to find. They are either on their phones or in group talking among themselves. It was hard to get their attention to ask for a fork or hot sauce. Also not a very veggie friendly food place. The menu did not point any vegetarian dishes and had to confirm with the server prior to ordering anything vegetarian.

Ordered takeout last week. Have had countless positive experiences here over the past 8-9 years. I think my wife made the point best: It's convenient and not greasy/oily. I couldn't agree more. Most recently, some of the dishes we got were (1) the diced chicken with chili/spicy sauce; (2) chicken with vegetables; and (3) vegetables and bean curd. The diced chicken is an absolute must if you can handle some spice. The bean curd was a highlight as well. The bean curd was presented in a form/with a consistency like flat noodles, and we loved it.

We are new to the area and found Mu Lan via google search with great reviews. For a Sunday night at 20:00 it was extremely busy. The staff were very efficient and clean up was like watching a pit crew changing tires; fun to watch. The meals had fresh and tasty ingredients plus served right off the pan. We can safely suggest if you are in the area check out Mu Lan.

This place serves Taiwanese style Chinese food. The restaurant is nicely renovated and has a welcoming atmosphere. Lots of windows and natural lighting. Every table is served with peanuts and pickled vegetables. The selection is quite slim compared to similar Taiwanese restaurants around the area. The prices are relatively higher than comparables. The food quality is average and excessively oily. The service is a weak area. We did not get refills or checked on after food was served. It wasn't even busy.

Mulan is a good Chinese restaurant with nice modern decor. Staffs are polite and food is served pretty quick. Spicy mulan fish is their signature dish. Diced chicken with spicy sauce is crispy and tasty. Braised pork shin in brown sauce, Taiwanese steak, and crispy spiced pork are also very good. We received complimentary green bean soup with sweet potatoes dessert which is yummy! This place is usually crowded during weekend dinner time.
