Terrible food, no flavor, not fresh, fountain soda was FLAT, the woman who took my order was rude, could barely conceal her contempt and disdain for Latino people. I ordered the Kalua pork with rice and salad, the plate was mostly shredded cabbage with bits of pork, shouldn’t be in the food business if you’re so stingy. No authenticity, bland low quality good. Never again

Family-run Hawaiian plate lunch spot in Walnut. 3.5 stars is a fair assessment - I used to come to this place a lot in high school and I think it’s come down a bit in quality. Got two combination plates as takeout for lunch on a Thursday and was disappointed. The rice was hard and the lettuce was also hard (not crunchy in a good way). The chicken was probably the best of the three meats but was a bit bland. The short rib was chewy, and there was very little beef. The mac salad was a bit dry and the pasta itself seemed a bit old. I wanted to like this more than L&L because it’s family-owned, but objectively it’s not as good. I’ll still continue to patronize this place for cheap food that’s close by, but I hope that improvements will be made to the freshness of the food.

The service was good. Came, ordered, and picked up my lunch really quickly. I got the mini hawaiian bbq chicken plate for $7.94 and it okay, just a tad bit pricey. The chicken was tender and flavorful. The macaroni salad is good too! The rice is broken rice, which I'm not the hugest fan of. (just want to let you know too if you don't like it as well.) The meat may not be as thick as your usual hawaiian bbq places. Overall, everything was just okay!

Didnt think you could mess up Hawain bbq. I ordered the 3 meat plate. Plate was skimpy. No real flavor. Macaroni salad was mushy and just mayo. Just filled the container with rice, that was mushy as well. I was expecting alot better quality for $14.50(A dollar charge for ATM) will not be returning.

pretty standard 2 item place, the prices have definitely climbed over the years. I pulled out a menu from 5 years ago and the items are all $2-3 more expensive now. overall the amount of food is plentiful, and the service is no frills but friendly. I recommend the chicken katsu with gravy, or the Loco moco, also with gravy

Abysmal portion size, over priced.
Ordered seafood combo with BBQ chicken.
Came with a scoop and half of rice, macaroni "salad" which was basically macaroni with just mayo. Just absolute trash.
The chicken was thigh meat, but they must have been from dwarf chickens because it was tiny.
The fish was a skinny piece of flavorless sadness, and the cook must have had some semblance of shame for serving it by itself because he put in 3 broken off rejected pieces of fish that amounted to 1 mouthful of misery.
The 2 pieces of shrimp were covered in a thick over-done coating of breading. I had to cut them open to even see the shrimp, forget about actually tasting it.
I don't recommend ordering the seafood combo.

two days ago was the first time we visited this place. But It is no doubt not the last time. We had a good time with the efficient service, with the fine meal and wine and with the comfortable price. We will absolutely visit there soon.
