Great local Whitties bar. The Green is a Walla Walla staple, especially for those with ties to Whitman College. Numerous Seattle and Portland yuppies (I use that term both loosely and lovingly) created some of their very first legal drinking memories in this fine place. Hands down the best fish tacos in the world (I swear... I've searched high and low) which can be pleasantly washed down with a Mac and Jacks. And all of the local and Whitman memorabilia make everyone feel right at home.
I was disappointed when they added hard liquor (they used to serve just beer and maybe 2 bottles of wine from taps on a surf board) as it changed the dynamic of its patrons for the worse. I was even more disappointed when they removed all the old sorority rivalry from the ladies' room paneling during their remodel, only to be replaced by trashy locals writing misspelled nasty notes to one another. But alas, the Green is the Green and it's a Walla Walla gem.
Yea Locals!. A great and comfortable place to hang out have a beer and chat with the local folks! Perfect when you get enough of the wine snobs!
The Green and Fish Tacos. Unlike Jamie, (who seems to have been to every restaurant in Walla Walla), I like the Green.
Admittedly, I only go there in the afternoon to have a couple of fish tacos and probably avoid the younger crowd having fun during the evening.
Everytime I've been there, the tacos were outstanding, the service friendly and attentive. I actually liked shooting the breeze with whoever was at the bar.
I'd give it a thumbs up.
Good food (party of 6 was happy with everything from French dip to fish and chips), great service. Well placed flat screens. Kind of a sports bar vibe. Busy.
Fun, locals watering hole that has been around for years. Peoples names and dates carved into the booths. Lots of character here. Food and service is good.
One of my favorite local places to eat. Good selection, great drinks, and friendly staff.
Food and service were super great! Best meal I've had in a long time.
My two favorite things are the black bean burger and their Thai pizza!! The food is absolutely incredible!!
Thai pizza here and fries were great. Large beer selection. The bar has patio, great place to hang out during the summer. Overall good service and food.
Great food, decent service, however the end encounter was a bit discouraging. The server was educating us on how to tip. She over heard our conversation and jumped right in before she even knew what we were talking about. Our friends that were sharing a table with us were asking how much we were going to tip as we are always in a little competition with one another and the server jumped in telling us there was a cheat sheet on the bottom of our receipt very aggressively snatched the receipt out of my friends hand to show her.
I had the Alaskan halibut fish & chips, which are some of the best I've had in Walla Walla. Fried to a golden color, not overcooked, with plenty of chips. Very delicious, especially when paired with the Quirk brewery hazy IPA. We also had the fish tacos with avocado which were excellent.
