This is a cute little place with a fun atmosphere and decent Minnesota Mexican food. We were seated quickly during lunchtime and friendly staff got us drinks and chips right away. The salsa was good with just enough spice. I ordered the chicken fajitas. The chicken may not have been fresh cooked to order, I’m not sure. It was tender and juicy but I wish it was cooked with lime and some Mexican spices instead of just salt and pepper. However, everything else was perfect! The tortillas were a step up from the usual and there were plenty of peppers and onions. The dining room and restroom were clean and orderly. I look forward to trying more dishes.

If only I could rate Zero stars.
A friendly welcome was about the only good thing. Oh, and the $2 Sol. Salsa, guacamole and cheese sauce tasted like they were squeezed from ready mixed bags in the back room. Ok, maybe the cheese was from a big #10 can. It was the best tasting of all we tried - basically the same stuff they pump onto chips at the ball park conversion stand. Maybe the salsa was the best... but it still wasn't fresh made.
Chasing down the waitress to get a check was also a hassle but I still gave a $1 tip, the min I try to give, even for a horrible experience. Our tab was <$10. (Hubby said it was too kind. Occasionally I'm the nicer one...)
Basically, the lesson here is, if it's a bunch of white people running a place, it's not going to be real Mexican food. Just go to taco bell if you're gonna eat MinneMexican.

My wife and I went to Zona Rosa for dinner on a Saturday night and left extremely disappointed in the service. When we arrived we were able to get a table on the patio right away. It took several minutes for the server to stop by but when she did we ordered margaritas and opted for the chips and salsa (now charge a $1 for) and also placed our food order since we knew what we wanted. What was extremely disappointing was that it was probably 15-20 minutes to get our food which was fine but our food ended up coming before the drinks or chips & salsa. Food was ok, nothing spectacular and definitely didn't make up for the service. The table next to us has been sitting there for sometime as well with no service and we heard the waitress stop by to tell them it would be a while before she could take their drink orders so it clearly wasn't just our table with poor service.

We were so excited to have some Mexican food, but were so disappointed. I give 2 stars because the margaritas were good. My daughter and I ordered tacos with side of rice. The rice was over cooked and had no flavor. I asked if I ordered soft shells if they could fry them on both sides, the waitress looked at me like I was crazy. My husband ordered steak fajitas, the veggies were raw and the steak was flavorless. He typical cleans his plate but barely touch his food. We would no recommend this place to anyone.

Very unfriendly staff and extremely poor, slow service. It took forever for someone to acknowledge that we were seated and ready to order and there was no checking in to see how our meal was or how we were doing. Food took forever to be served. They charge for chips and salsa before your meal- the salsa tastes like it’s from a jar vs. homemade, the “queso” is nacho cheese from who knows what. They messed up our meal and didn’t apologize or bring out a new order. The restaurant is cute from the outside as well as inside, but I would never recommend. It is also overpriced for what you get.

The waitress was not very hospitable and she was very rushed. The food was awful! It was no where close to being authentic. My partners fajita vegetables were steamed so they tasted raw. My enchilada tortillas were exposed and crunchy when they were supposed to smothered in sauce. There was just a dab of sauce on the top of my crunchy tortillas. They were disgusting. And they must have left my plate in the window for a long time because the rice and beans were dry and stuck to my plate. I will never go back to that place. I'd rather eat at Taco Bell. More flavor!

The water tasted like pennies took over 40 minutes for our food to come the food was awful. Store bought taco shells canned beans the waitress acted like she was scared of us . as a Mexican this is EMBARRASSING. You guys charge for chips and salsa had Taco Bell sauce the cheese wasn’t melted my tacos fell apart with all that Grease on the bottom . you need different waitress and a cook because this is more like a store bought American Mexican restaurant. wouldn’t ever recommend coming back to this place .!

I asked to get my tacos made with beans rather than beef or chicken and was told that the cooks wouldn't do that since it was too busy and was then directed to the only menu item without meat per our server which was a cheese quesadilla with black beans and veggies. It was good, but not really what I wanted. I'm still a bit puzzled by the whole experience. My daughter loved her food and the chips and salsa were delicious.
