My husband and I are food snobs with a passion for BBQ. Needless to say, were not easily impressed.
The building itself is cozy and inviting.
The staff (I believe she was an owner) was genuine, knowledgeable & helpful.
The food was absolutely amazeballs (brisket, pulled pork, slaw, cornbread)...
I can't say enough good things about this place.
It's worth the 3 hour drive and we will be back!
I stopped around noon and ordered a pulled pork sandwich, coleslaw, cornbread, and unsweetened iced tea. The service was polite, attentive, and fast. The food was great! Pork was tender, moist, and flavorful, not even needing sauce really. I just ate about half of it with a fork--no bun, no sauce. The slaw was crispy and creamy, the cornbread moist and sweet. Tea was fresh. Could only eat about half. Saved the rest for later with the pork on the roll with sauce. It was awesome!
Been here several times, food always good, fresh and priced for.
Location is great.
Staff and bartenders always knowledgeable, attentive and kind.
Keep up great work!
Had the sampler meal. Really good mac and cheese, kettle chips and pulled pork. The portion of four ribs I was served, had a lot of fat and the lemonade was a bit tart. Overall, I did like the restaurant and I do recommend it for BBQ lovers. Again, the kettle chips and mac/cheese are surprisingly very good and I LOVE their regular BBQ sauce. I did not try the spicy sauce, but the regular sauce has a nice touch of sweetness to it. The meal cost $37 base price.
Friday night around 7pm. Found a good parking spot and walked right in and sat ourselves. The place was full so the timing was great. There are booths, tables in the open, bar seating and a long communal high-top table. Our server was attentive and we were well looked after. I thought the drink selection was great and my glass didn't run dry once. Considering the volume of patrons they were serving, our wait time seemed acceptable to me. We had the Brisket Tacos, Ribs and Pulled Pork Sandwiches. Good stuff!! I enjoyed both the Regular & the Spicy Piggy Sauce that they offer and the house chips were really tasty as well. To switch it up, next visit I am going to sit at the bar and order more sides and some apps too! @devinejd
The outside atmosphere was very nice. We had good service that was very quick. Everyone at my table got the pulled pork sandwich. Overall, the food was decent, a bit cold, but satisfied a BBQ craving.
I have had BBQ all across the United States to include Texas, North Carolina and KCMO. The BBQ at The Piggy is excellent! The hot BBQ sauce is awesome! I look forward to going back. If you have an appetite, get the eight ribs with cornbread w honey and a side of Mac & Cheese -- YUM!
This is a very clean, cute restaurant. Brisket sandwich and ribs were excellent! Our wait staff was super friendly and attentive. We will definitely return when in Walker, MN.
