10/10. The food was AMAZING. The service was EXCEPTIONAL. And overall, a perfect experience.
4 of us.
Ordered the "escargot" octopus. The hillbilly cornbread. The mushroom pot pie. 3 orders of the chateaubriand. 1 bone in new york. 3 chocolate purse deserts and 1 bread pudding.
All were fantastic. We do regret not ordering their Mai Tai... we saw it as we were leaving and looked killer!
The service was top notch. They work as a team and everything flowed flawlessly.
The atmosphere was louder than we expected, but still very nice!
We needed a reservation but it was worth it ! Food was fresh and well cooked. Small portions but enough. Good cocktails and beer, and excellent deserts. We tried the burgers, pork sandwich, mahi mahi catch of the day , all with Yukon baby potatoes baked with Hawaiian salt. Everything was good and everyone was happy! Our server was helpful and quick. We will come back next time we visit the island .
After reading all of the reviews, we knew we had to check it out. Merriman's has a super chill vibe, with fine-dining food so its a great blend.
My wife also added on the wine pairings of which they all were great. The absolute star of the experience was the Lilikoi Margarita. Seriously delicious.
Food was superb and the desserts were out of this world.
Chante was the best and provided excellent service while also letting us enjoy the food.
Worth the price!
The food was amazing but the service was even better! We had a hard time finding a ride back to our hotel and they were willing to accommodate!! The food was so fresh and flavorful, I would highly recommend going off the beaten path for this wonderful local spot.
Went for lunch -- food was all fantastic; full of flavor and crisp and clean. Ambiance is lovely and bright with a nice view of the kitchen. Service is fantastic -- extremely friendly and attentive. Highly recommend!
Had a late lunch, which was an early dinner for us, since we are still set to PDT. The food is excellent, plus Ashley provided great service and information on what was available on their menu. Food items are sourced locally and artfully prepared to arrive at the right moment. Would definitely return.
It's quite a drive out to middle of nowhere but I would say it's worth the drive. I had the wok charred Mahi and it was honestly the best food I had on the Big Island. The waitress explained everything on the menu and the Mai thai here was the best on the Island as well. Great place to dine for a special occasion.
We had dinner at Merriman’s at Oahu and we definetly had to repeat the same restaurant in Big Island. They do not have the same menu, but the flavors in both places are incredible - it’s definetly from the farm to the table. The lobster ravioli, the beats salad, and the dark chocolate dessert are a MUST.
Truly a wonderful experience from start to finish. Elle, our server was perfect. Dinner started with a Prosecco toast. Then smoked taro chips with hummus. My wife order Hirabara salad, Kailua pig quesadilla and kua’aina beef tenderloin. I got the shrimp bulgogi, poke, macadamia nut crusted fish and day boat catch. Daiquiri, ginger ale. Finished with bread pudding and chocolate purse. The service was amazing, attentive but not intrusive. Elle was there when you needed her to be and left us along when we didn’t. Even the bus staff was amazing. Merrimen may not be able to boost about their views but with their food and service, who needs a view. Looking forward to next time.
Absolutely fantastic place, highly recommended. I had the fresh caught Mahi Mahi and it was amazing....the sauce with it is out of this world. We drove up 250 and the drive was probably one of the top 5 most beautiful drives I've ever done. Definitely check this spot out
