One of the Hidden Places to eat good sushi in city of Waianae,the fish are real fresh,rice is not too mushy or hard its perfect,fillings inside the sushi are perfect,sushi is perfect room temp,price is reasonable,love to come here and order some more.

Ho. My. Lord. I don’t even know how to begin to explain this place, besides maybe “confusing” and “an absolute revelation”. I have genuinely never had sushi this good before, and can not wait to go back! We stopped at this spot based on the reviews, and they were NOT wrong. I’ve never in my life had sushi this spectacular. It seems simple, but every piece is absolute perfection. Four months later and I still dream of this place. Go here!! But call in your order well in advance...it’s slow, but worth every moment.
AWESOME TAKE OUT
Swish dining environments are few and far between in Waianae, unless you count the chain eateries. But Sun Sushi provides sushi freshly made while you wait. It is worth the wait knowing that it is being made from fresh ingredients and experts. It is delicious and perfect to take out and eat in the sun or at twilight watching the waves or the sunset. The couple making the food, ?the owners, have been there a long time and they seem very gentle people intent on providing an excellent meal to order. The store is a bit tucked away on the ocean side of the highway but worth the hunt. We order from there several times each time we visit Waianae.
Really fabulous sushi, made fresh to order. Nice Japanese man took our order, and doesn’t speak much English. Menus have numbers, and there are pictures of most sushi to help you order. Excellent value for the price. Very delicious fresh sushi.
After going in a decent hike in Waianae my wife and I wanted sushi and didn't want to drive all the way back through the brutal traffic before sitting down and relaxing. The elderly gentleman didn't speak English very well, but we were able to order with no problem. The sushi was very fresh with good quality and surprisingly... cheap. A word I've never before used(or since) to describe sushi. I felt it was affordable while good quality. I would definately suggest stopping in.
Extraordinarily fresh ingredients, masterfully assembled, absurdly affordable. As others stated, the owner has limited English, so calling ahead of time isn't ideal. Cash only! And no gluten-free soy sauce. None of that detracts from the sheer value - guaranteed to please!
Wonderful food. Not really an eat in dining experience, so order it for take out, but delicious and big portion sizes. Reasonably priced for delicious sushi. It’s a great find.
Decently priced sushi. Very small inside. Owner doesn't appear to speak English. Did not greet or respond audibly. Stay away from the San Francisco roll -- American cheese is gross on a roll.
Definitely worth stopping by if youre in the area. Not like other sushi spots that put waaaay more rice than fish.....great food at a great price. Im sure we'll be eating there again soon.
Not much to choose from like genki but whatever sun sushi does have that genki does as well, sun sushi blow them out the doors! Much love to that 2 old couple!
