We’ve been taking out from Islander Drive Inn for many years. Its not a fancy place, just a simple, hometown spot, but i gave them 5 stars for 5 reasons.
#1 Consistency - What i ate many years ago tastes the same every time we went including today. Im not left scratching my head figuring they changed cooks again. If they did, I didn’t notice. What makes me so sure? I eat the SAME THING every time.
#2 Accuracy- They have never messed up my order. Nothing different, nothing missing, I get what I ordered. Utensils too.
#3 Hot Food- I paid higher prices at places 5 minutes away from my house that left me feeling cold. Literally. Not here though.
#3 Communication- They answer the phone quickly, I understand what they are saying and they understand me. Pleasant.
#4 Convenience- Fast Service. Good location. Good parking. I always need medication picked up at Longs so picking up a meal at the same time makes it easy.
#5 Local Business- Always support local.
My personal favorite is always the Honey Garlic Chicken plate with all white rice. Nice,Sweet Honey sauce with perfect amount of garlic, not overpowering and Crispy juicy Chicken. Very flavorful. Good portions. My husband enjoys the homemade hamburger steak with onions and requested gravy all over everything. Fries are crinkle cut. They are decent. Good selection of other different plate lunches as well with pictures. If you haven’t been, we recommend this humble spot in Wahiawa.

Wow. I guess my review a month ago wasn’t taken to heart because returning here was a huge disappointment. This is the first time in the many many years we have been coming here that i was let down. First of all, it took so long to answer the phone i was just about to hang up. Secondly I couldn’t hear what was being said to me so i had to ask if it was Islander that i was calling. Then as i was ordering, there wasn’t enough gravy so i couldn’t complete the order. The grouchy guy i was talking to wasn’t even apologetic about it either. I shouldn’t have ordered anything at all. It will be awhile before i come back if i do at all. Very very disappointing!!! I hate doing this but i gotta be honest.

A lil hole in the wall with in door sitting. Food was good, service was alright. Price was right.
Great experience. Friendly order taker was rather busy (but nothing she couldn't handle...her words). We ordered loco Moco which had hand-packed hamburger patties and a very good gravy. The garlic chicken was very tasty and I had the chicken katsu and teriyaki broccoli chicken, two-item plate, which was also good. Credit card surcharge had our meal just under $50. We ate outside...the green flies are very fat. This restaurant is recommended.
My parents were the first customers when this restaurant opened over 20 years ago and was a staple of Islanders. The boss and my mother had become friends and now I work there and I understand why the food is delicious.
THEIR food is delicious and very affordable. Their staff is very sweet and courteous, the cooks are also GREAT! Thank you to the cooks Dar, Colleen, etc. The owner Jenny is very sweet also. Thank you for your onolicious FOOD.
The food is good here great variety but their always closed so early. I wish they'd at least stay open until after 9 maybe.
Decided to try this place today...lemon chicken was broke da mouth...looking forward to trying other plate lunches
I've been coming here for years the food is okay if you like more homestyle local cooking if your looking for that mainland type of taste then this place wouldn't be for you its better you go to ruby Tuesday's.
Teriyaki plate & hamburger steak plate reminds me of the good ole days. Also, they make their own hamburger patties. I'll be eating here more often.
I like this place the food is good but I love , love , love , love the pot roast pork it's so good and their double bbq burger awesome.
