Heitmiller Steakhouse is one of those places that has been around seemingly forever. A standard in the community. The staff is amazing, friendly, helpful, A+. The food was very good, not great but very good. The steak I had was a little chewy. I will go again just because they have such a reputation. It lives a little in the past and building and menu need a refresh. If you haven't been you do need to try it.
Great food, Michelle was a great waitress and took care of us. Had the chicken fried steak and it was enough for two meals. Fried okra was delicious too.
I had never been to this establishment until my sister in law mentioned it. As soon as I heard the word steak, she reeled me in! I had the sirloin, she had the ribeye and I have to admit, they were delicious. Too delicious I couldn't even bring myself to finish my meal. I ordered mine with mash and corn, so did she as so did my brother but with corn on the cob. The steak was so tender, with a pinkish center just how I like it. Who would have thought 12oz would fill me up. The rolls, oh em gee! with the cinammon butter were delicious! I will definitely be coming back when I visit Waco to get my steak fixing.
We had the sweetest waitress named Holly! The food was good. When we first entered the hostess had us go sit in the bar area. The bartender was rude when she came over stating we had to go out front to be seated. Instead of being rude back I just went back out front. I hope the manager knows that a tourist from Missouri will possibly come back even though the bartender was so rude directing me back out front after I was sent to her section by the hostess . Moral of the story is the bartender missed out by being rude cause I tipped the waitress 40%. If you work in customer service learn to be nice or find another career!!!
Very good visit today at Heitmiller Steakhouse. Chicken Fried Steak is always good. Tried the Blackend Steak tips today, very good! Margarita with a shot of Grand Marnier was Excellent! 😜
