The Raleigh At The Hippodrome

We were seated at the bar and were never greeted. After moving to a table, our server was very prompt and attentive. The salmon was dry and overcooked. The chicken fried steak was delicious but I had to ask for gravy? I waited for 17 minutes for a draft beer and there were two bartenders just chatting. We probably won't go back again, unless we hear it has improved...

The wait was long because the kitchen also cooks the orders for the movie theaters but the waitress was really nice and the food was really good. The atmosphere of the restaurant was fun but still relaxed. Items on the menu are named after different movies and there was a good variety of meals to choose from. The fries were really good the burger was huge.

So the food here was great. Not just good, but great. Their chicken fried steak was delicious, as were their biscuits and French toast. However, the service here was very poor. Our server completely forgot about us and we had to flag down bussers to get anything. After waiting at least 15 minutes for the check, we were finally able to flag someone down. Then, after no one came to pick up the check, we had to go up and go to the bar to get cashed out. We were there during brunch and it wasn't packed. Overall, the quality of the food couldn't make up for the level of poor service.

Former waiter and restaurant worker here. We had a group of 17, and reserved a room in advance. There were two servers that waited on us in an upstairs room away from the main restaurant. The order was taken, and when the food arrived, about 1/4 of the orders were incorrect. It didn't help that the servers had no idea who ordered what. Two if us had to wait so long for our burgers, the rest of the group already finished their meals. Members of the party refilled their own water. The did waiter comp the two meals and apologized several times. The food was good, but the kitchen and wait staff need to be a lot more organized or people will stop coming back. .
